VINTAGE SETTLEMENT SVC INC

Vintage Settlement Services, Inc. they had an attorney that worked on staff that did all the paperwork for them. We were sent paperwork this last month. They were our mortgage company as well as title company. I thought they were very good. The attorney that worked with us, we like a lot. That's who we pretty much dealt with. In fact that's who we went to the settlement, but we went to Wells Fargo for the actual mortgage. Pretty much the settlement process. I thought that we had a very good relationship with the attorney and she was very personable and provided us with good advice. In fact we went on to use her for other purposes. I almost should look at this and fill it out myself she is no longer with the company, she went off and moved on her own. I don't know who they have now doing this work. She was with them at the time. Her name is Amber Litchfield.

They were very professional. Our point of contact was Mel and we were very happy with her. They took the time to go over all the legal documents and we would use them again.

Great service. Explained what was needed for a title change, and made the process quick and easy.

There were problems with the title, and involved parties had to be tracked down in New York and persuaded to sign documents. Vintage did some serious detective work to sort it out. I got the impression that the settlement agent (Barry) actually enjoyed the challenge of a messed-up, hard-to-clear title. I was living in Baltimore and buying a house in DC, and the owner in DC had mobility issues. Barry wound up driving to DC, and then driving to Baltimore for my signatures. The prior owner rented back for a month, and left the house in terrible condition. Vintage was holding a deposit, and there was some back-and-forth about paying that out---the prior owner wasn't very nice about paying for the mess he left, and I frankly wasn't the perkiest about it either. Barry kept his cool throughout, and eventually arrived at a resolution. So Vintage really went above and beyond, several times over.
