Abbott & Associates

Update: After filing a claim in small claims court, and a complaint with the Department of Labor in Maryland against Abbott & Associates, we finally received the balance due to us on 8/15/18, so all of our original deposit of $4000 was eventually returned.

We signed a contract in November 2017 with Keith Abbott to have our roof replaced, and we paid him a deposit of $4000. After much prompting from us, he notified us in April 2018 that he was unable to perform the contracted work. He failed to refund our deposit, but with prompting from us, he eventually returned half of the deposit ($2000) with no explanation about the outstanding balance of $2000 still due. We continue to wait for the refund with no luck so far.

It was fine. He is a nice guy. They were easy to work with. It took longer than expected. He has been good on following up with us.

They are a very small company so it's a bit harder to get things scheduled. I do think the price was a little high but due to my house closing and things surrounding that, I didn't have much room to negotiate the cost. I am also still waiting on my warranty documents but they got the job done and I haven't had any issues so far.

We had a leak in the roof and Keith, the owner, actually took the time to inspect everything. One company we called showed up and declared we had to replace the skylight and they did not even bother to go up to the roof to check it out. Keith is a professional and very knowledgable. He spent a lot of time inspecting the entire roof and came up with creative fixes. The job was done quickly and we are very happy with the results. They communicated with us and showed up when they said they would. We highly recommend them.
