It turned out that it was just a feature if the doorknob. If you held the lock down and turned it a bit, it would stay locked. The locksmith seemed to know right away what the issue was and since I had to pay the service charge he cleaned the lock. I do wish if it was a
Common thing, the person I talked to the phone would have mentioned to try that and saved me the service charge. But I've used them in the past and have always been happy so I will continue to use them.

Locksmith arrived 15 minutes earlier than scheduled appt.
He was very professional and we disscussed everything beforehand.
Job completed within 30 minutes.Fees were $98 for service call
and $ 30 for installing door knob I bought from Home Depot.
He even made 2 extra door keys free before he left.
Highly recommend using Village Lock and Key.
