Joel is wonderful to work with! We converted a semi-finished room in our basement into a home theater. Joel worked with us on how to best layout the room and installed the sound system/speakers, projector, screen, lighting, and sound panels. Joel helped us pick the best equipment for our space and within our budget. When it came to installing, he has an almost obsessive attention to detail in the best way. He saw that the screen was 1/16th of an inch off level. I never would have noticed, but he made the adjustments to make it perfect. All of his work was like that - the details are perfect. The work went fast and we could not be happier with the results. The picture is big, bright and so clear. The sound is so crisp that you can hear birds fly over your head in a movie. You feel like part of the crowd when watching a football game. It really is an amazing set up. If you are looking to install a home theater, Joel and Every Man Home Entertainment is who you should hire.

We were very impressed with the work that Mr. Joel Shaw (owner of Every Man Home Entertainment) did for us this week. Our project was extensive, requiring three long days of work by Mr. Shaw (and more limited assistance from his helper and a network engineer). Mr. Shaw installed three wall-mounted TVs, including doing all of the rewiring required to install two of them in new locations which were not previously wired for TV. He also added a sound bar to one of our TVs. He installed a new audio system, including 4 in-wall controllers and a hub inside, and three new outdoor speakers that he connected to our Sonos amp. He also set up an enterprise grade wifi system for us. Mr. Shaw was pleasant, personable, and professional. He went out of his way to save us money on the job. His initial estimate was in line with the final price, without any surprises. He persistently and diligently worked through problems that arose without becoming flustered or upset -- just continuing to figure out workarounds and solutions to make things work the best possible way for us. He consulted us every step of the way to make sure that we were happy with the final product. He answered all of our questions and gave us the information that we needed to make informed decisions about the project. We are anticipating that we will have more work for Mr. Shaw to do in the future and will not hesitate to use him again.

Joel did an awesome job of installing my Home Theater System. Right from the beginning of following up my request for a quote, Joel was punctual, polite and very professional. He came by the same day I emailed him and gave me 2 different quotes, depending on the equipment. The quality of the equipment and his work are top-notch. I had e-mailed a couple of other guys as well for a quote, but got very limited or no response from them. Joel on the other hand seemed very enthusiastic and was quick to respond to any questions I had. I would highly recommend Joel for anyone looking to install a Home Theater System.

Joel did an amazing job mounting my LCD TV and sonos playbar. He’s a perfectionist and works to the same standard I imagine we all want in our homes. I have an older home with plaster walls, which is why I didn’t take this on myself. I am completely satisfied and will recommend Joel to anyone looking for home A/V speciality work. I’ll also hire him again in future for another job. Highly recommend!

Joel is courteous and very knowledgeable. The project didn't go as smoothly as anticipated, due to some technical difficulties with the original sound bar purchased, but this was not Joel's fault. He truly acts like he is not satisfied until the client is. He was always responsive to texts/phone calls and never did i have any doubt that he would get the job done. I had used another company on a previous installation and was not satisfied with their over-priced services. I wanted to find someone who could deliver full A/V services - from design of a home theater system to full installation. I found Every Man Home Entertainment on Angie's List and gave them a call. This was a fairly big A/V project to design and install a home theater in a fairly small basement room and select a large-screen television and sound system for a separate bar area. Joel came to my house, listened to our wants and requirements, and got back to us with options and estimates within a few days. One of the things I really liked about E.M.H.E. is that they are extremely knowledgeable about A/V components and smart home technology. Joel made great recommendations and suggestions. The universal remote he configured makes it trivial to turn on and shut down the entire system. We can control the lighting with a single button. And I can use my phone or tablet to control all components. Joel and his team worked within our schedule and delivered a solution that we are extremely happy with. I will use Joel and Every Man Home Entertainment for all of my future projects.

I ordered a mount online that I liked because it was designed to clear deep shelves. Our fireplace is quite high and we were trying to free up the room for more seating, and wanted to try putting the tv on the fireplace wall. Not as easy as it should be. The gentleman (owner) from EMHE was very considerate about making sure I was happy as he proceeded through the project, rather than tear up the wall only to find out it wasn't going to accomplish what we were hoping for. He was very considerate of the house. He went the extra mile to do his job well. We were planning to replace the wall-to-wall carpet with hardwood, so I let him know that before he started moving the cable line. I was fine with him running the line under the baseboard (the room is over an unfinished basement/crawl space), but he chose to pull out a ladder and check out the not-easy-to-access crawl space. In the end he ran a line through the crawl space which made for a nicer look. When he had everything hooked up, one part wasn't working right and he thought it was the port on the tv. He could have left it at that and I would have been none the wiser, but he went ahead and checked the HDMI line (even though he said he's never really had a bad one). Lo and behold, he had to replace the line. Bottom line, he's the sort of contractor I like to hire because he cares about his finished product as much as I do.

Joel was the third person we hired to work on this for us, and he was the only one to identify the problem correctly and solve it. He truly went the extra mile to do the job right, explain everything he did and why, and recommend some new equipment where needed. In the end, he worked on this longer than he expected to, but charged us much less than what he could have. I’d give Everyman higher than an A if I could.

The work was completed over a year ago and this review is way overdue. I would have to rate Every Man Home Entertainment an A+. My original goal was to obtain assistance installing a large HD television. Joel noticed the dimensions of the room and showed me how it could be transformed into a home theater by changing the focal point of the entertainment. He stepped me through all of the technical selections and always answered my questions with patience and knowledge. The results were simply amazing and the price was extremely reasonable. I was really blessed to locate such a gifted young businessman.

Joel had us send a description of the area, viewing distance & hardware to be used etc. so when he showed up they got right to work. There were a few minor snags from issues in the wall, but even though it added quite a bit of time, they stuck to their original estimate and did a fabulous job. They were meticulous in keeping drywall mess to a minimum and didn't leave a trace at all when finished.

The overall experience was top notch. I was planning on contracting with Best Buy Magnolia. Based on conversations with the Magnolia team, I was not comfortable that they were very knowledgeable about the equipment they were attempting to sell me or the skills of the installers since the installers were going to be geek squad employees vs. specialists. Joel helped me choose the best solution for my needs (saving me $2500 over Magnolia), provided itemized/transparent pricing, and treated my installation like he was installing a theater in his own home. The install was very professional. He was flexible with his installation scheduling and was very responsive to my questions after the project was complete. My family loves the new theater. I will absolutely do business with Joel again should additional AV needs arise.

Joel was a pleasure to work with. Fit me into his busy schedule during the holiday season. When an unexpected issue arose (Fire block behind wall) he gave me some work around options which worked out perfect. Joel is a really nice dude, looks out for his customers and their wallets at the same time. Very thorough, walks you through the whole process from start to finish. Answers all your questions and very reassuring. Quality of work is very clean and you can't beat the pricing. It's a one man gig so you got to cut him a break on timing and scheduling. We can’t say enough about how positive our experience working with Joel was! He is very professional, responsive, has incredible customer service, and is a true expert at what he does. Our job was particularly complicated, as we wanted to mount a TV above a fireplace with stacked stones, crag-type style (no two stones appeared to be level throughout the whole surface). My husband thought that the job couldn’t be done. We asked Joel to come out and assess the project and whether it was feasible. After he confirmed that it was, we also asked his opinion on the size of the TV we should purchase, brand, where to buy it from, and what accessories (e.g., sound bar, HDMI switcher, etc.) could add value and which ones were just bells and whistles. His advice served us well and the TV and sound system we purchased are perfect for our space. Joel did an amazing job installing the TV, securely mounting it onto the thick stones and positioning it well. My husband was not only surprised that it was done, but that Joel did it alone, as he thought it looked like a two person job. It took Joel about 6 or 7 hours, and he worked late into the night to ensure the job was finished on time (we were moving in to the house in two days and really wanted the TV up beforehand). Unfortunately, we learned after the TV was installed that this particular TV set had a finicky HDMI port—sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t (this is on us—we should have tested it before having Joel mount it). It was clear that we needed to exchange the TV, and we were not able to take down the old TV and put up the new one ourselves. Joel offered to come out that evening, the day after the orginal installation, to dismount the TV, wait until we got back from exchanging it at the store, and then remount it. I think most people probably would have waited and scheduled us for a later date, but he knew that we wanted the TV up before we moved in. Joel didn’t charge us extra for the dismount/remount, but we paid him more anyway. His flexibility and determination to see the job through made what could have been a bad experience into a great one. Our expectations were surpassed! His price was very reasonable, particularly for the number of hours our job took and the complications that came with it. We are very happy with the service Joel provided and will definitely hire him again. I’ve hired other contractors based on Angie’s List reviews for other jobs, and in other instances, I thought their work was so-so. Working with Joel was the first time we’ve had an A+ experience with a contractor found on Angie’s List. We love his work!

Work was excellent! A very professional experience and the end result was excellent. The technical even made sure I knew how to work the system before they left. I will hire again.

Every Man Home Entertainment was very professional from the start of the project to finishing the camera system installation. They installed the recommended camera system. Programmed all my electronic devices so we could view each camera live and play back recordings. I am very satisfied with the cameras and the team that installed them. I received a follow up call to see how the system was going if they could help with anything. That's excellent customer service. I will use them again.

We had an existing room that we wanted to turn into a home theater. After interviewing and getting estimates from several companies, we selected Every Man Home Entertainment (EMHE). We needed not only installation, but equipment recommendations. EMHE provided equipment recommendations in two price ranges and even arranged for us to visit a previous customers installation so we could see workmanship quality first hand. Honestly, we were a bit nervous given that we could not see/hear all the components operating together before installation. However, checking multiple review sites showed all the components suggested received extremely high reviews. Although EMHE does not sell equipment, they were able to provide sources with discounted (but still fully warrantied) prices on some items, saving us a good bit of money. Our installation was a bit tricky due to the room construction, but was completed in 4-5 days. Some drywall work was required because of the way the wires had to be run. EMHE does not perform this work, but can recommend someone if needed. After EMHE performed video and audio calibration, the results were spectacular. The image quality from the projection system far exceeds our expectations (near 4K HD) and the audio is tremendous. We get full ATMOS sound that is crisp and balanced with clear dialog. Movies, concerts and even plain old FIOS TV look and sound awesome, You may never want to go to a theater again! The system is so good, that we get the full movie theater experience including tremendous bass response, at reasonable volume levels. Options, equipment and system operation were clearly and patiently explained, excellent communication throughout the whole process. The price and personal attention were much better than what you get from a big box store or specialty integrator. Give them a chance, you wont regret it. Highly recommended.

He was prompt, knowledgeable and great to work with. He explained the entire process and made suggestions on how to improve my audio experience. I would hire him again in a heartbeat and will recommend Joel's services to others.

Joel is the only one to call for audio/visual needs. I have been searching for the past year to find someone who I thought was knowledgeable and not out to break the bank with me. I read about Joel on Angie's list and was impressed because literally every review was positive, I forgot our initial appointment and he was kind enough to give me time to get home and then come back that evening. He was knowledgeable and knew what stores were running sales for equipment. He spoke in laymen's terms and explained all the new TV technology and didn't try to sell me to buy items so that he could make more money installing items. On the day of the installation, Joel showed up on time with his tools (including a vacuum to clean up) and went to work. The first situation we encountered was the plasma TV in my basement was too heavy for the bracket. He called me downstairs and explained why he didn't recommend installing the bracket he had, offered to either order a commercial one that could hold the weight of the TV or recommended waiting until I replaced the TV. I ended up deciding to wait because I knew that I would be replacing it within a year, The average installer would have probably installed the bracket and let me take my chances and not communicated any concerns. He installed the TV in my bedroom and the family room. During this time, I asked him about a sound bar and he thought that would be great for the family room and allowed me to run out and purchase one (he recommended one that was on sale $200 cheaper than normal), There was problem with getting the cable on the TV in the family room. He spent time on the phone with Verizon and worked relentlessly troubleshooting the problem even when Verizon was unable to assist. He wouldn't give up until he resolved the issue. All the wires and cable box were hidden in my family room and it just makes the room look better. I didn't have high def wiring in the house initially and we even installed that with both TVs and my family room had a weird configuration but he made it work. When he finished the installations, he cleaned up the area and vacuumed. Joel was always upfront about the pricing and with great pricing even when I added additional things for him to do at the last minute. I know that other companies would have charged me at least 2-3 times what he charged or even more. I am a customer for life and will refer my customers, family and friends to him without hesitation.

The work done was excellent and the equipment was professionally installed on a timely manner. Joel arrived nearly a hour early and made sure that everything was to our satisfaction before leaving. He was already familiar with the system we wanted to install and within hours we had it up and running. We highly recommend Joel and his services.
