Called contractor from a flyer left at front of house. Called him and asked for a estimate. He came on Sunday October 26, 2009 and gave me a verbal estimate of $125.00 to put the siding back up on the fascia. While he was working on the fascia near the chimney location he said that it appeared that a single was torn and there appeared to be openings at the edge of the flashing around the chimney. He told me that he had caulk that he could repair the openings and caulk the single to the roof. He told me that he would do just the repair for $65.00 or replace and attach new flashing around the chimney for $200.00. I told him to caulk the openings in the flashing for $65.00. He went back the and caulked around the flashing on the chimney. When he got back to the ground I asked him for the total amount due and he told me it would be $365.00 in total. I questioned him about the charge. My calculation of what he told me came to $190.00. He said I was wrong and the charge would be $365. I paid him by check. I was overcharged based on what we discussed.
