DO NOT GO TO THIS JEWELER if you want your jewelry to be returned to you in one piece! On 10/27/16 I brought in my engagement ring to be cleaned so that I could sell it (I'm going through a divorce). The ring had been misshaped because I fell on my hand, but the stone was fully intact. I got it cleaned, reshaped, and the engraving inside removed, and rhodium plated for $65. It took about 2 hours. When I got the ring back, everything looked great. I got the ring rhodium plated which looked great, and the engraving was not even noticeable! I couldn't tell there ever use to be one. However. When I got to my car and inspected the ring under direct light, I noticed something wrong with the stone. I thought maybe it's just the lighting, but it didn't seem right. After a few minutes I finally saw that a CHUNK of the stone was missing. I ran back to the store and showed them the ring and they told me they couldn't see anything. I was appalled. I urged them to look further at the stone, that it was now missing a chunk. They finally admitted there was a chunk missing but they said it was broken when I brought it in. HA! Why would I bring in a broken ring and pay $65 to get it cleaned when it's not even worth that much in gold? Then they told me it must have been cracked when I fell on my hand and the chunk shook off during the cleaning process. Oh, oh okay so when I brought it in, it was cracked? They inspected the ring and told me it had scratches on it, but not that it was cracked. Any reputable jeweler would be able to see that. These people are trying to accuse me of bringing in a broken ring to be cleaned. They claim they did not notice the ring was damaged when I brought it to them, and they SOMEHOW did not see the chunk of the stone missing after the cleaning process. Do they not inspect the ring after they clean it to make sure it looks good? The LEAST these people could have done would be to refund me the $65 and apologize. But no. They won't even do that. I now have a WORTHLESS ring that I paid $65 to have cleaned. I have filed a report with the Columbia Mall and have disputed the charge with my credit card company. THIS PLACE IS FRAUD! DO NOT BRING YOUR JEWELRY HERE!
Description of Work: I brought my ring in to be cleaned, reshaped, engraving removed, and rhodium plated.

Service is terrible, employees and owners are rude. I dropped my watch off that wasn't working and asked for a repair estimate to FIX the watch. They told me I needed a new capacitor and it would cost $55. I paid the money but the watch still didn't work. They said sorry, that didn't fix the issue, we can try and replace the movement for an additional cost of $100+. I requested a refund since the part they replaced didn't fix the issue and I didn't want to pay more money to them while they try and randomly pick parts to replace until they stumble across the part that needs replacing. They refused to refund me the money. The store owner Jacob Bekar wouldn't let me talk, he talked over me and screamed and yelled saying store policy is no refunds even if what they state will fix the issue doesn't actually repair the problem.
Description of Work: Provided a repair estimate to fix my watch. I paid them the money to repair the watch, the part they stated that wasn't working was replaced but it didn't fix the watch. It still wouldn't run. They refused to refund the money. They said they could try and replace some other parts to see if those would fix the issue at my expense.

Description of Work: I needed to purchase a watch battery and band for 1 watch. I also needed to replace a band (that I'd already purchased elsewhere) for a second watch that I brought with me. Since I already had the band for this watch, the company did not charge me to attach it. I was surprised I had to wait 30 minutes to pick up the watches. I also had to return a week later to have one of the bands reattached since it had come loose when I tried to wear it a few days later. I thought the prices were a little higher than expected. I'm used to paying around $5.00 for a watch battery (not $15.00) but it's been awhile since I bought one and this may be the going rate now. The employees were very nice and professional, but I think I can get a watch battery and band a little cheaper elsewhere.

I needed the small pin that connects the wrist watch band to the actual watch. Asked the cost and was told $10 and 20 minutes. There was no other customer in the store and though they may have been busy doing work in the back I thought $10 for a pin and the 30seconds it takes to put the pin in was a bit ridiculous. I did not accept the service, walked through the mall where I found a kiosk selling watches and accessories, asked if they had a pin for my watch and she said $5 and 10min. The ten minutes was because she knew she had to search her little pin box. She found my pin right away and in 2 minutes my watch was fixed and I was on my way.
Description of Work: I declined the service I requested after being quoted a cost and the time for repair

I took my watch to Columbia Jewelry Service Center on a Saturday. I was acknowledged by the store employees quickly and was told it would take them 15 minutes to change the battery. I came back 15 minutes later and it was done. The employee I was interacting with told me a part was missing from the watch and they replaced it without charging me extra.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY HAS BEEN EXCELLENT. ON THIS OCCASION THEY WERE ABLE TO IDENTIFY THAT THEY NEEDED TO ORDER THE WATCH CRYSTAL AND THEY WERE ABLE TO GIVE ME AN ACCURATE ASSESSMENT OF HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE TO GET THE WORK DONE.
