I found Caliber Home Loans and the branch manager , Andy Duda, by referral through a builder's website. He was immediately responsive and easy to speak to. His demeanor and real answers to my questions about the market rates allowed us to build a working relationship that assured me he was a trusted and knowledgeable adviser. I never felt uncomfortable discussing finances, credit or concerns. His goal was never to just spend money that was available, he wanted to ensure that I felt comfortable with all the choices that we made, and he was respectful of the budgets and goals I set. His responsiveness was unprecedented, in this age you expect an automated system and "Press 1, Press 4..." until you could scream. He was always a phone call away. Even though we did most of our business via email, once we established a working relationship, he never hesitated to pick up the phone and talk. That is rare. Many businesses are email driven, there are no real people to talk with and get quick clarifications, the human element in customer service is dying. Every question I asked regarding financing was answered truthfully and in detail. He really knows his business and that makes the loan process so much smoother. He was not digging for answers or providing vague complex detail to avoid the questions. Additionally, he has foresight into financing scenarios that may become unmanageable down the road, helping the buyer steer clear of pitfalls. Andy always followed up. I never left wondering what was happening with the loan, and he consistently updated me on the process, letting me know the ball was still rolling. He made the most anxious part of the home buying process the smoothest and simplest. I almost can't wait to refinance!
