The project went very smoothly and quickly. We worked with Lorraine who was very helpful and knowledgeable. They had a good price and the entire project from start to finish was completed in only 2 wks. Very positive experience.

This is the last time my wife and myself will be using Cabinet Discounters. They?ve done a good job two prior times on separate homes, so we thought they would continue doing this good work; but we were wrong. The prior two times, they delivered the cabinets the same day they were being installed. This time they delivered the cabinets almost two weeks prior, filling up our living room and dining room with boxes. They had to be told what to do according to the contract (i.e. not installing two outlets they said they would install). We had to call back the electrician and plumber back several times because of their errors. We also had to tell them that they needed to even the floor, and they did not to a great job with that either. They requested the final sum prior to returning for the final inspection since we were paying via credit card, and we agreed. Through the final inspection over two weeks ago, there were some issues that were brought up. (i.e.: Cabinet not aligned, unevenness in counter-tops). They said that they would return and complete the work. Over three weeks later, there has been no word. The carpenter himself, I think did a very good job. I?ve gave them a C because overall it looks nice. But when you sacrifice so much money, one expects not to have to tell them how to do their work. Be aware, they DO NOT PAINT, and they do not prep the walls for painting. (They will let you know that ahead of time).
I guess I will have to finish-up their work.

It was a big job, and unfortunately it was poorly managed.
The scope of the work was large - a big master bath with plenty of changes to make - but we were assured that it wouldn't be a problem for the group of subcontractors and craftsmen Cabinet Discounters has on tap. Unfortunately it was too much for their project management. That meant that we had some wrong materials ordered, we were missing parts, and we had some serious out-of-stock and backorder issues. The job ran much (nine (9) weeks) longer than it was supposed to.
We were a bit surprised but understood that they wouldn't do wall finishes (painting, etc) or supply lighting fixtures. They did, however strongly suggest a lighting fixture vendor (who also turned out to be a disappointment). The fixture vendor neglected to let us know that some of the key fixtures were no longer manufactured. It wasn't until we checked on the delivery and nearly the day we were scheduled to have them installed that we got that bad news. Why didn't someone call us when they found that the fixtures were back ordered and suggest that we source some alternatives? What malady prevents a vendor from suggesting that to a customer?
Cabinet Discounters seemed to have the malady. The freestanding tub (a key part of a bathroom renovation) was also back ordered and once again, we were left in the dark until well into the project. At that point we were given the opportunity to choose another tub but the bathroom was designed around the original tub.
Some good news:
Their carpenter was excellent. A 4-person jacuzzi needed to be removed and serious work done to remove extra levels in the floors as well as rework the room's configuration. The carpenter did a fantastic job with a difficult room.
Their tile man was also excellent. He had a massive number of tiles to set, reworked a large shower, and had to deal with multiple floor and seating levels. His work was as flawless as any I've seen. He was with us for 8 days and took his time to ensure that each and every tile was the correct size and set properly.
Bottom Line:
For a large complex job that requires careful scheduling and attention to detail, I wouldn't use Cabinet Discounters again. For smaller jobs that don't require electrical work they may be adequate at project planning. Most their subcontractors are Very Good.

The plumber's work was good but did require a call-back. It was a shame because I'm sure that was due to the complexity of the tub (something that wasn't helped by the tub being back ordered and late).
The electrician was -- well interesting because the Owner/manager of the electrical company was less than helpful, his second-in-charge made a mistake, but the youngest of the three did some really good work.

Cabinets are beautiful and make the most of the space in our strangely-shaped kitchen. Steve Fair was accommodating, pleasant, and punctual; he measured very carefully. Delivery was timely. Steve called us after installation to be sure we were satisfied.
A cabinet that had been designed for our microwave oven turned out to be too shallow, but we were able to place the microwave elsewhere; this is a minor quibble. We recommend Cabinet Discounters and Steve Fair.

Steve Fair at the Columbia store was very helpful and designed a potential cabinet for us on the first visit, along with a price quote. The process was very efficient and professional. Once the cabinet was installed (by our own carpenter), a very nice young man was sent out to take measurements and prepare a computerized template for the quartz countertop. He, too, was professional and efficient. The countertop was delivered and installed within the timeframe promised by two very competent and professional men who managed to drop the counter (and undermount sink) into a tight space with walls on three sides. The countertop is beautiful, as are the cabinets. Everything, from beginning to end, turned out very well--with no problems at all. I would recommend this company very highly!

I wanted the new cabinets to match the existing cabinets in style and color. They did so beautifully. Dave was a godsend, so easy to work with, and kept us in the loop, step by step.

The guy that we worked with was Mike. They gave us an estimate time of three weeks and they gave us a schedule when people were going to be here plumbers, the electricians and everybody was here right on time and they finished three weeks on schedule. The day they said they would be finished they were finished. They cleaned up and I just love my new kitchen. Even the guy that worked with us to help design it and added few things and he recommended certain things and it was wonderful. He was punctual and he even came out and checked it out after it was finished and it was being done just to make sure everything was going okay and I think we were missing some knobs and he can deliver those we were short of a knob I think and he brought an extra one. The subcontract people were so professional. I can't say enough about this people. The price was good as we looked around couple of years ago to do it and so we knew what we were looking for. They will give you written schedule and they were that precise. I would use them again in the future.

We called Cabinet Discounters to discuss remodeling our kitchen. We had read about Tessa, one of the designers, on Angie's List and made the appointment with her. Tessa is wonderful to work with! She is knowledgeable, helpful and very professional. Tessa explained how the entire process would work and was helpful throughout. Cabinet Discounters scheduled all of the electrical work, tile and plumbing. All of these contractors did beautiful work. The only thing we scheduled was the floor. We had old tile floor removed and hardwook floors installed. Cabinet Discounters worked with our schedule on this. They stopped work on the ktichen for one week while the old floor was removed. We had the new floor intalled at the end of the project. Also, Cabinet Discounters hauled the trash away daily so we did not not a dumpster in front of our house for days.
There were a few minor problems, but Tessa and the scheduling office took care of everything. Overall, everything went very smoothly and we are thrilled with our new kitchen. The cabinets are beautiful. We highly recommend Cabinet Discounters! We would certainly use Cabinet Discounters again and we would also work with Tessa again.

I have used Cabinet Discounters Inc in the past to remodel the kitchen and bathroom. They remodeled the kitchen. I had bought cabinets from them for the bathroom that someone else remodeled. Been very happy with them, love the work.

Teresa Carney of the Columbia outlet was our rep and she did a wonderful job. She was personable, knowledgeable and responsive. She had good ideas for changing the layout of our 25-year-old kitchen. We were impressed with the fact that we were given a detailed schedule for the entire job and everyone stuck to it. We were remodeling the kitchen just prior to putting our house on the market. We had three offers immediately following its being listed, and I am certain the kitchen was a major draw. The only issue we had is that our hardwood floors were not being replaced, and I don't think they were protected adequately from the all the construction dust. I ended up putting additional covering down myself. I questioned this and was told they treated our floor the same as all their other jobs. I am just the kind of person who thinks it is easier to completely protect something in the first place rather than have to clean and/or polish it after the fact.

We had been needing these counters replaced for a long time. While we are usually do-it-yourselfers, this project was a bit more tricky than we thought we could do. We picked Cabinet Discounters from the listing on Angie's List. The salesperson was very helpful and knowledgeable. They came out and measured with a laser measuring device and when the installers brought the new counters, they fit beautifully. They were very thorough with making sure the counters were well supported. The carpenters were very neat and professional. The tile installer did a beautiful job cutting the tile to fit around the curves on the old fashioned sink back splash. All in all it was a good experience and the kitchen is much improved.

Excellent encounter from start to finish. Showroom staff were friendly and helpful. Lorraine was extremely helpful, knowledgeable about kitchen design and patient as we made our choices. She had many helpful ideas that were not suggested at other companies. We had got several estimates. The price was competitive. The entire staff was very responsive to all our inquieries and requests. The installation crew did an excellent job. James, the carpenter, Mike, the plumber, and Kevin, the electrician, all knew their trade and followed through until we were completely satisfied. They were flexible when we discovered the unexpected behind our old cabinets and adjusted the time schedule to do additional requested work to our specification. They let us know when they were coming and arrived as promised. The Brighton cabinets we purchased are gorgeous. We are completely satisfied.

Mike Englehart was our design and sales consultant. He was a pleasure to work with. We especially liked the fact that he used his computer to design the remodel and show us exactly how the kitchen would look based on our design choices. He then arranged for all the contractors and managed all aspects of the job. He also provided us with a detailed proposal, price quote, and design drawings. All of the workmen were very professional and did excellent work. Our job was scheduled to start on the day that the superstorm Sandy came ashore just north of us. Fortunately, my neighborhood escaped the damage and we did not loose power so the work was only delayed by one day. The day after Sandy hit our cabinets were delivered and the carpenters started demoing the dropped ceiling. We were provided a written schedule for all the work showing who would arrive to do the work and when they would start and finish their portion. The job took three weeks from start to finish with a one week pause in the middle to manufacture our quartz countertops to custom fit our installed cabinets. That gave us a chance to paint the kitchen while we waited for the countertops. All of the work was accomplished on schedule and they even made up the day lost to Sandy. All of the workmanship was of excellent quality and the finished kitchen is beautiful. We had a minimum of dust during the remodel and the workman cleaned up every day. My wife and I were very pleased and we were able to host thanksgiving dinner at our house for our family. We received many compliments on the kitchen remodel. I highly recommend Cabinet Discounters and I would definitely use them again.

Met with Lorraine in the store to work up a design and pickout all of the cabinets, hardware, flooring, and counters. On stop shopping. She also worked with another home-remodeler (Cossestino) to coordinate the redo of a bathroom. Everything was smooth and with as little disruption as possible.

Had an entire kitchen makeover. All work other than electrical was great. The electrician had quite an attitude of, "I know it all," but when my husband (an engineer) called him on some items he became angry and somewhat beligerent. In addition to having new wiring installed and new circuits, we had LED under-the-counter lights installed. We discovered they caused "interference" with other applicances. It took 3 months and much work on the part of my husband to get the situation rectified. The electrician stopped calling as did the representative from Cabinet Discounters. My husband ended up calling the lighting company directly and asking them all the questions that the electrician could not answer nor did he bother to get answers. Fortunately, the lighting company was superior and allowed us to exchange the LEDs for another type of under-the-counter lights. I may use Cabinet Discounters in the future but ONLY if we do not have to work with the same electrician.

The installer arrived within the time window. He was patient, friendly and creative (even going to Home Depot to pick up a need part). He tried several options before finding one that would guarantee a quality fix. He explained everything he was trying and why. It was obvious he had pride in hiw work since he could have easily settled for a "good enough" fix. But he was determined to do the best fix no matter what. I would not hesitate to use Cabinet Discounters and or recommend them to other potential customers.

We first went to Classic Granite and received an estimate, then to Cabinet Discounters. Cabinet Discounter's estimate was nearly the same, specially when the cost of the edging of the countertops was thrown in as part of the price. Also, we liked having the faucet and disposal choices at the showroom to look at and purchase without going somewhere else. Teresa Rozanski was very helpful in showing us the available granite styles and giving us some samples to take home. She scheduled an appointment at their granite supplier, Creative In Counters, in Mount Airy. It really wasn't that long of a drive, and they had an extensive collection of granite to look at. The salesperson there was very patient, showed us the process (fascinating!), and the slabs available. They came to the house and did precise measurements of the counters and then layed out the slabs that we chose digitally to give us the exact way the marble patterns would be going on the counters. They did a fantastic job removing the old counters and installing the new. The seams are barely noticeable, and you have to know where they are to find them. The sink was installed, but the electrician and plumber came the next day to allow the seal to seat first. They did a great job as well. We are very happy with the way the kitchen turned out, the service, and everyone's punctuality. We highly recommend Cabinet Discounters and their associates.
