BELTWAY GARAGE DOOR

The rep. from Beltway Garage Door arrived (late) and told us that we had an old garage door and a lot of the other parts needed to be replaced in addition to the cable. He pointed to one of the springs (attached to the broken cable) and said "look at that spring, see how its extended compared to the other one, it needs to be replaced." It was extended because the broken cable was wrapped around the pulley preventing the spring from contracting! I could see there was nothing wrong with it. He told us the repairs and replacement parts would be $795. He said the work would take 30-40 minutes. I told him I wasn't prepared to spend that amount of money and asked him to repair just the cable. He refused and insisted that it required the $795 of work. I told him I would have to think about it and paid the $65 service call fee though he did no work. I subsequently called another company (Fred C. Johnson Co. Inc) that repaired the cable and lubricated the parts for $120 the next day.
