RITEWAY DUCT CLEANING SERVICE

The boiler stopped working and the mechanic determined that it was a stopped up flue. He encouraged me to contact Riteway and they came first thing the next day. The mechanics took care of the flue and cleaned the boiler as well. This is dirty work and the mechanics were careful and cleaned up when they finished.

Both men were polite, answered questions without hesitation, and offered knowledgeable advice.
I think we have begun a biennial ritual, as I will most certainly call RWDCS again.

They did a good job.

I honestly don't know why these people don't have more reviews on here with great reports. These guys did a great a job, cleaned everything until it looked shiny and even my wife was pleased!

Overall, great experience. They were a little late in arriving but got straight to work. I bought a coupon through Angie's list so it took a long time to get appointment. Then on the day of the appointment, Hurricane Sandy hit so my appointment had to be rescheduled. It was reschedule very quickly and I didn't have to wait long.

I called Long and Foster Property Mgt to send a duct cleaning co blow out the Ducts and Return Air Flu since it was caked with dut and created a health hazard when using A/C. An appointment was scheduled but when I inquired about the process and tools used the phone tech became rather curt about it and finally said "it's a professional process, trust us". 2 guys show up as scheduled and begin running hoses from truck into house. I thought they would put a seal on the suction side so dirt wouldn't blow around the bag. He did clean off the coils which were very dirty but there was a bit of a mess left around the unit and a number of dirt clumps leading back out to the front door after they wrapped it up. I rechecked some of the ducts that I knew where exceptionally dirty and sure enough they hadn't even done 3 obvious ones that you could look down and see were dirty. I thought something was a miss when they came and went in 45 min. The service guys were pleasant but just didn't do everything they said at start of job. This company is totally blow n go and not about quality service. I mentioned the issues to Long and Foster but hadn't heard back.

The flue cleaner arrived punctually, I had a morning 8am to noon window and I wasn't left sitting around until the last minute. He cleared out the furnace boiler, but a lot of the soot was blown behind the dryer and other appliances in the basement instead of into the large vacuum hose. I ended up then having to vacuum up this ash and soot myself later. Additionally, after opening up the flue/chimney and removing a few large chunks of ash/soot, he declared the flue/chimney was clean because it could draw air, although I could see significant amounts of loose ash. I had to request that he clean out this ash by bringing in a portable shop vac to finish the job since the large truck-mounted vacuum hose used on the boiler couldn't reach the flue/chimney. I was disappointed that I had to ask for the cleaning to be completed and not left half-done. In the process of cleaning out the flue/chimney, the furnace was accidentally damaged and could no longer turn on. The company was very responsive to this problem, taking responsibility for covering the cost of the furnace repair immediately.

Like a cheese that has gone bad, my experience with Rite-way continues to linger. They previously had done an adequate job. I thought that I would be satisfied. The saga began the day of the first appointment, they didn't show up. With an appointment window between 8 and 12, they called at approx 11:00 to assure me that they would be on time. After 12:00, I repeatedly called them on the provided number. Apparently they arrived a little past 1:00 that afternoon. Disregarding my instincts, I agreed to reschedule the appointment. The day of the second appointment arrived. They did show up. I think that they cleaned everything, although traced my dryer vent. What continues to linger is the mess that they made. I repainted the walls that they stained. The grease spot on my recently re-poured sidewalk is lasting gift. I scraped most of it off, but the grease found its way onto my carpets and hardwood floors. The nasty black smug remains as a constant reminder not to do business with them.

THEY SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND CAME OUT ON TIME. THEY DO THE WORK IN A TIMELY FASHION AND ARE VERY COURTEOUS. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND EVEN GAVE ME SOME NICE AIR FRESHENING TIPS.
