MAYO PAINTING & WALLCOVERING COMPANY

Job was not done to a professional standard or as promised.  I paid for a professional exterior paint job and that was not done.  The old caulk was not removed or either the new caulk was put directly on top of the old caulk.  The caulk is not adhering to the wood at the seams and now the caulking is separating from the wood which is exposing my home to water and the elements.  My home has cedar siding and Mayo painting replaced some of the cedar planks, however the planks used are not the same materials and the boards are bowing/raising up and coming away from my home again exposing my home to the elements. All the boards that need to be replaced were not.  Keep in mind I would have to pay for all materials, which I would graciously dond and I did point out all the boards that needed to be replace but were not.  Some boards are wet rotted and crumbling that were not replaced.  I informed Mayo Painting 6 months after the work was performed, May 2013 about these issues and nothing was done.  I contacted Mayo Painting again 1.5 years later, Oct 2014 and he stated he would remove the old caulking and re-caulk and replace the bad boards and the soft boards.  These boards needed to be replaced when he painted 2 years ago and the old caulk should have been removed and re-caulked at that time as well.  He informed me of the cost of $175 and I agreed because the work needs to be done.  Some of which should have been done 2 years ago, like the caulking which should have been a part of the original cost. It's two months later, Dec 2014, and the repairs have not been done.  At this point, I'm going with another company. 

The work done was not of professional quality.  I'm very disappointed and would not recommend Mayo Painting.

Fernando replaced a few pieces of the cedar siding with wood siding making imperfections in the siding as a whole. When he did the caulking, instead of removing the old and replacing with new he just caulked right on top of old caulking. The caulking didn't adhere, so now when it rains some of the watering leaks through the cedar planks which could eventually cause mold. I have left many messages and he hasn't returned my calls.

*The work was done on November of 2012, I initially called him on May/June of 2013, because that's when I first noticed that the caulking wasn't adhering. Fernando returned my call immediately, said he would come out and fix the issues, but he never showed. I have tried calling him a few times since, but he hasn't returned my calls.*

He arranged a time for him to view the job in advance of giving me a proposal, which outlined all the tasks he planned to accomplish. We scheduled a convenient day for him to begin the project. Prior to that, I sent him paint colors that were to be used for the job. He and his staff showed up on time each day, and completed the job in the 5 days he estimated. In addition to painting flawlessly, his staff replaced outlet covers and door stops with new ones, quite a surprise to me. They left my home very clean, no sign that painters had been there for days.
