The store is well stocked and I enjoyed walking through the showroom. Had some difficulty lifting the heavy boxes off the shelves, so had to look for someone to help me. The employee that I found was very helpful and he gladly assisted me. After I paid for the items, I pulled my car up and another young man helped load my car. Overall very good experience. Not the best quality, but for the price...can't beat it.

We purchased a built in Microwave and Oven from Ikea in College Park in September 2012 for our kitchen remodel. It was a basic but nice looking stainless steel set for a very reasonable price. Knowing it was manufactured by Whirlpool and had a 5 year warranty is what made it an appealing purchase. In December 2012 our Microwave started beeping randomly and none of the knobs or buttons worked when pushed. We called the warranty phone number (Ikea division of Whirlpool) and they had a repair company (Apple Appliance) contact us. The repair was scheduled but the company kept calling to tell us our appliance was no longer under warranty. We explained it was only a few months old and we had all of the receipts and paperwork but they kept insisting their system showed it out of warranty. We contacted the warranty line again and they said it was some sort of system error with our home phone number previously belonging to another customer and told us they would send a different repair company. The second company (Via Applicance) contacted us the next day and scheduled a visit the following day. Because of the beeping we had to unplug the unit and when the repair person plugged it in it worked fine for a few minutes. We both knew it would be short lived but he could not pinpoint a malfunction. About 5 minutes after he left the issue began again. We had to request they return which they did next day (we also had to leave the unit plugged in with the non-stop beeping which made for a long night and morning). He had to order parts which arrived a few days later and attempted another repair. That did not resolve the issue. He ordered another round of parts which took about 4 weeks to arrive. The second repair was attempted and the issue was still not resolved. Also when removing the microwave they accidentally significantly scratched our brand new cabinet. Via Appliance assured us they would reimburse us the cost for the new cabinet part (roughly $100) but recommended a new unit, it could not be repaired. We called the warrantly line (no one contacted us) to figure out next steps. They told us that the units were on back order with no estimated arrival date and you cannot go to Ikea and exchange the unit. We called Ikea to see if they would back up their product and they said it was a Whirlpool product, they could not do anything. Whirlpool offered us a refund instead. We decided on the refund (we are now in mid-February without a microwave). They said it would be a 2 to 3 week process to process a check and a company has to be sent out to remove the microwave. It is the second week in March and we are still waiting. We are opting to purchase a different and more expensive brand. Our appliances won't match but in this case there appears to be a reason these products are significantly less expensive than other built-in lines. The oven still works fine so far but it is definitely a basic model, no bells and whistles.

We were looking for price and service to purchase and install an new bed. After visiting various mattress companies in the Rockville We went to Ikea's to look. The price and selection were great and they answered our questions.
They show up and delivered the bed and mattress to the bedroom so I could set it up. There were no problems.

It was very price competitive. It was like half price competitive. I sleep like a baby! It is actually sort of bulging on one side because I was sitting on it without a frame. They replaced it for free! They furnished my 1700 square foot house, that is what they are meant to do. They moved my furniture from my old residence to my new one for free.
