HOMESAFE SECURITY SYSTEMS

I had a clause in my sales contract that the new owner would take over the contract. The new owners did take over the contract, but sold the house withing 6 months of the purchase, with a second new owner taking over, according to a clause in their sales contract. In 2004, Homesafe sued me, me for more than $6,000--their equipment cost, the months of monitoring they said they missed, and interest. They said they said that the new owners did not take over the contract. They did not contact me first, just sued out of the blue. I sent a copy of the sales contract showing the new owners agreed to take over the contract.I asked why they sued me and not the new owner, and they said "because we had a contract with you and not them." I had to hire a lawyer. Once all the paperwork showing the new owners took over the contract was presented, and that their buyer also took it over, Homesafe dropped the suit. However, I still owed the lawyer $1200 for defending me. The lawyer asked Homesafe to pay him, but they refused. They have not answered my letters asking to be repaid. I contacted ADT headquarters, but they were no help, either. I still want my $1200 back. Searching on Google, I found that Homesafe has quite a history suing customers.
