Carpet Installation
It went miserably and we ended up cancelling the whole job and going with another organization. We came into the store for the perceived simplicity and the 72 hour carpet installation. Our original choice was on back order even when it was indicated it was part of the 72 hour program in the store. Then we selected a second choice that was supposedly in stock and this also was on back order with a much more unsatisfactory installation time. I went into the store one more time to give them a second chance so we could identify materials that had a better indication of in stock and to try to recover lost time. A third selection was made that was promising but when the appointment was set up for the instillation it was still pushed back for the same unsatisfactory, original installation time. Bottom line is it was a horrible hassle and the 72 hour program seems to be plagued with problems.

Lawn Tool Repair
I bought a GE Profile refrigerator at Home Depot 2 1/2 years ago. I had to have 10 repair visits by 7 different companies under the extended warranty they sold me. In September, they sent a repair person that completely disabled the refrigerator, left the sealed system open to contaminants for over a week, used the wrong Freon and left. I had an unplugged, moldy refrigerator sitting in my kitchen for another two weeks, while Home Depot and the underwriter of their extended warranty (Asurion) invented excuses not to rectify the situation. Although the extended warranty promises a refund or replacement after 4 visits, they refused to honor it. I had to have a lawyer contact the Legal Department before I got relief. I won't be purchasing appliances from Home Depot again. The price wasn't all that great anyway-- I really only went there because I wanted to use the Home Depot credit card. I wish I hadn't done it. It was all a huge hassle.

his store has the worst customer service of any store I have ever experienced. Installer was competent, everyone else involved in the process was horrible. STAY AWAY from this store.

I thought that the price was in the ball park and we went with them because they gave us a discount of a few hundred dollars. I like the product that we bought and I thought that they did a nice job installing it.

Door Service
Home Depot did not install the door and hinge right so that when the wind caught it, the door was ripped back and did some damage. The customer service person I talked to just couldn't get through her head that I wasn't trying to get my money back. I just wanted the door fixed properly. She kept screaming at me that they didn't cover wind damage. She was very rude. I would use Home Depot again, but maybe at a different location than this one.

Sales Reps were helpful and friendly. Caution, however. The carpet measuring sub-contractor only comes to your house from 9am-5pm weekdays or on Saturdays so if you are rushed, keep this in mind. Also, keep in mind that the 72-hour guaranteed installation for some carpet types starts after the measurements and after you pay over the phone. The installer that did my carpet only counted weekdays in the 72 hours they have to get it installed, although they do work on Saturdays. The installers also brought the wrong pad and had to return later in the day.

I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE INSTALLERS. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID A GREAT JOB I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE AND SALES REPRESENTATIVE. THEY WERE NOT AS WELL PREPARED TO DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS AS THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN.
