Young's Auto Service

There were multiple issues with this place - timeliness, honesty and customer service. I called to see if I needed to schedule an appointment and was told I could just show up. I get there a couple hours later and was told the mechanic/owner(Mr. Young) left to go get parts and was asked to come back later. I came back later cause it was mid day and I didn't want to go somewhere else and have to wait. I get back and they get my car on the lift. I'm then told it's the heat shield making the noise. The mechanic doing the work said they could weld or add a screw to tighten it. But then Mr. Young comes over and says they can't weld it, didn't mention adding a screw. He then started quoting high prices $700 - $1300 to replace the heat shield. After I hesitated he said it would be okay for me to drive as is. I have a general mistrust of auto mechanics and I googled what other people have done with a lose heat shield. I mentioned what I found to see what he thought about removing the heat shield because some people have done that with no problem. Mr Young and he was like why do you come to the shop if you're going to goggle? Which let me know that he is a liar and can't be trusted. The mechanic, BJ, that worked on my car was polite and professional. The synthetic oil change was $60 which is on the high end. I really hate going to auto shops because I believe they lie and rip people off. This place was no exception.

I always have an engine cleaning done. I think it helps it. I have an older car; I have a 98 Honda Accord. It normally costs me about $48 because I get the additional work for my car. I've been going to them for years.

They topped everything off, and checked my tires. I normally call ahead, and schedule an appointment before I go. I generally only have to wait for about 45 minutes to an hour. They have a television in the lobby. They service foreign cars mostly, but will service any type of car. I like it because they are not pushy with trying to up sell. Their work is very, very good. All of my kids go here. I have been going here for about 20 years now, and would recommend them to anyone.

I have been using the exact same shop since 1979. They do very good quality work. They do everything you can think of for your car. They are very quick at getting you in and out. They keep all of my records on the computer to see when I was last there and what for. They are very customer oriented. They have never tried to rip me off.
