Description of Work: The original work was scheduled to take 2 days for painting (at $800 per day)and 2 days for landscaping (at $1500 total). The completed project took 6 days plus 2 days landscaping. The contractor also took it upon himself to add 3 additional people to his staff to increase the daily rate to $1600. I notified him the same day that he made me aware of this new plan and told him that I could not afford to pay $1600 days.Also my home was a recently purchased foreclosure I was told that additional workers were needed and for that due to the lack of staff that the landscaping could not be finished. After realizing the work didn't live up to what the contractor promised I asked did he expect the full payment even though there were no flowers planted and no mulch was laid, would me and my husband still be expected to pay the full balance of $1500. His response was yes. I even received word from my new neighbors that during the day the workers would stand in the front yard and waste time. The work was poorly executed and made it impossible to get around paying someone to repair what was completed. One of the bathroom walls was covered with a kickboard instead of removing the exposed mold. Overall, the contractor was supposed to complete the painting and skimming of all walls, install crown molding and hang ceiling fans as well as install new outlets. They suggested that we change some of the doors, so we agreed. In reference to all of the work that was completed over 80% of the work needs to be redone. The ceiling fans shake and sound as if an aircraft is getting ready to land. All of the outlets were installed at an angle and make them appear as if they were installed to tight. The walls were not properly sanded and therefore show all of the imperfections in the work.
