After failing a building inspection of the partially built addition and several months of contact, I successfully sued (she never showed up in court to defend herself) the sole proprietor of this company pro bono to get my deposit back. The company attempted (and failed) to draw against an AMEX card without my authorization and what little work they did do was of very poor quality.
Description of Work: I put a deposit down on the renovation of 3 bathrooms and the building of an addition.

I had a horrible experience with them. It cost me more money to go after them. The work they did was not good at all and now I will have to hire somebody else to correct what they did. They did the work without an inspection. The roof is leaking now. They show the photographs of the work done and I think that is a fake.
Description of Work: They did some roofing work in my house. They also put a bathroom.

The subcontracted window company was the only part of the work that went well. The windows were installed well. However, the rest was painful. The work took nearly 5 months to complete. It was supposed to take 3 weeks. The installation of the front door didn't include a mail slot. The workers attempted to cut a mail slot through an 18-gauge steel door while the door was still hung. The mail slot was gold and the door handle was nickel. The door is hung unevenly and now swings closed if it isn't propped open. It's missing screws in the hinges and has scratches due to the sloppy workers. The workers didn't speak English at all and I had to whip out 11th grade Spanish to communicate with the workers. No one was present to oversee the job. The measurements provided to the manufacturer were incorrect which resulted in delays. One air conditioner isn't rated with enough BTU to cool the room it is in and the other AC unit is so strong that it constantly turns on and off which will likely result in a short life for the unit. The service was so bad, the work was so sloppy and the completion date was so unbelievable that I received the work at a reduced rate but with no indication that the bad work would be remedied.
Description of Work: Grace Construction was hired to replace several windows and a front door. As well, they were to purchase and install window A/C units.

How did it go? Terribly, before start the "project manager" called trying to raise the cost of the bid not an estimate, a quote, after contract signed and check cashed. Start day, the materials showed up completely incorrect (2X10s instead of 2x12s, 2x8's instead of the 2x10s) After fighting with me on the phone, the PM tried to make me pay $300 to correct his mistake. I soon discovered that the 2 "employees" that were left to start the construction were day laborers picked up in the hardware store parking lot, who had never built a deck! One was a painter and one was an electrician. I proceeded to build 1/3 of the deck myself to show them how to do it correctly, they managed to build the remaining 2/3 incorrectly and had to disassemble and start over. The PM was constantly asking for more money, Never finished the deck. He threatened us and called repeatedly at all hours of day and night, a week after the "end" of everything, I am pretty sure was responsible for the burglary of our ho
Description of Work: Grace was to install a pressure treated lumber deck. They were provided with a detailed set of plans, full city permits, finely detailed materials list. Everything that they needed to build the deck was provided. I (the homeowner) have spent the last two years renovating the entire house myself. My wife begged me to hire a contractor to finish the deck because I was starting a new job. After consulting a professional referral service (that I had successfully used to outsource work on my mother-in-laws house) I contracted with this company. Worst mistake of my life.
