 + 0 moreBrinkley's identified a couple of serious safety issues and a few minor ones (required by Maryland). Having experience in auto repair, I was confident in Brinkley's diagnosis. They were able to create specialty parts in-house to fix the problems. The price for the work was on the high side and I had problems contacting them at times but am overall satisfied with the results.

Description of Work: My air compressor went out on my old saturn that had over 200,000 miles. At first I did not know what was wrong with the car, and dropped it at Brinkley's Auto to find out what was wrong and get an estimate. I was told it was the compressor and that it would cost over $1,100 to fix. I definitely could not afford this and especially on a car with over 200k miles. I left. After a night of searching the web and looking at new car which I really did not want to do, I remember a commerical for Brandywine Auto Parts. I was familiar with the location for its in my area. I called them that Saturday and told them my car's compressor went out and did they have one for a 1996 saturn. The gentleman said yes, a used one is $75. By Monday, I had purchased the compressor and Brandywine Auto Parts installed it for another $260 with tax a total of $340 compared to $1100 as Brinkley had quoted. What I don't understand is why auto shop don't even suggest a used part, and therefore I don't think they have the best interest of the customer at heart.

 + -1 moreMy car wouldn't start. The battery is only a few months old and while I drive the vehicle infrequently, I do try to do it at least once-a-week. Something was draining the battery but I could not find anything "left-on" that would be the culprit. When all my usual attempts to resolve the issue on my own failed, I had the car towed to Brinkley's. The counter person, Mark, was very courteous and friendly. The service performed on my car was an full battery recharge and electrical diagnostic.. They even went so far as to pull fuses and check for excessive battery drainage but no definitive problem was found. The charge for the work done and the time they spent on my car was reasonable. They recommended that I try to drive the car a little more frequently and go a little bit further. While the maynot have "solved" my problem (since they could not find one) the service people were exemplary in their attitude and willingness to help me out. The next time I need service on my 2003 Vue, Brinkley's will be my first call.
