Tree Pros

Contacted via their email/website. Mike S. came out a few days on later Sat. to look at site/trees. Sue E. mailed an estimate one day later. Price was reasonable, compared with 4 others, and estimated detailed exactly what was to be done. I was emphatic about no yard damage/ruts. Job was performed 4 weeks later on a Thurs afternoon after receiving one week notice from Sue E. Crew showed up promptly, actually a few hours early (rain was in forecast for early evening). Full crew of 6-7, one bucket truck, one chipper/shredder truck, pickup with stump grinder, and pickup with mats to protect yard. Went right to work taking down trees. The 30' tree was in open, the 40' tree was overhanging garden shed, so cutter climbed tree and was taking branches off with rope to lower and keep from dropping on shed. Once branches off, tree trunk was dropped and cut into hand-carry sections.. Backyard with limited access, used thick rubber mats to form path from driveway to back of yard. Trunk pieces and wheel barrow loads of debris transported across mats, avoiding any ruts/damage. Then stump grinder (self-propelled, about size of a big lawn tractor) driven across mats and used to grind stumps. Chips hauled away by wheelbarrow. Some large surface roots also ground. Area was left level with some mixture of dirt and chips in hole. The whole time, one worker continually raking grass/debris. Once done, rubber mats removed and grass was raked resulting in very little damage. I mowed the next day with bagger to pickup minimal debris and grass was in good shape with no ruts, etc. Crew cleaned up driveway and made sure everything was in order before leaving. No problems, no damage. Sue E. emailed an invoice that night and I paid it with a credit card on-line. Note: Price listed includes an Angie's List discount. Overall, a good experience and I have recommended Mike S. and Tree Pros to two neighbors. Would definitely use in the future.

Amazing job-- completely met expectations

Tree Pros were out to give us an estimate the same day. They agreed it could fall any minute and had their "bucket" truck out the next morning to safely bring it down. They gave good advice on other trees, and topped a dead tree near the road . Nice to work with. Very knowledgeable.

The job went well. We're extremely satisfied with the work Tree Pros did. We would have rated them an overall 5 for sure, but we didn't receive a call prior to them coming to do the work and we wanted to have someone present the day they came. They were not the cheapest quote we received by far, but we were most comfortable with their knowledge and recommendation for what needed to be accomplished to improve the health and longevity of our trees. We had 6 trees trimmed and pruned, fertilized, and sprayed insects. We would certainly recommend them and use them again for similar services.

They were courteous, fast, efficient, and fairly priced. They were very responsive to my phone calls and emails. Mike Souter was very much a gentleman and I enjoyed working with him.

The crew showed up right on time and went to work. They appeared to take great care in working in the trees - they were harnessed in, working in teams, with crew on the ground carrying away the limbs and cleaning up. The maple removal required a crane, which they had to put on the lawn. They covered the lawn with plywood to protect the turf. They worked quite efficiently and finished the job in less time than they had estimated. They cleaned up very well, blowing leaves off the deck, picking up all the sticks, etc.

Everything was handled very well, from setting up the estimate to the work being done promptly. Care was taken to avoid any damage to the lawn.

Tree Pros did a great job. They communicated well prior to the job and they could not have been more pleasant, courteous and effective. I would definitely use them again and I enthusiastically recommend them to others.

I had a very positive experience with Tree Pros. The company was professional and prompt. The estimate was the best of three and Mike gave my neighbor and I a good discount because we scheduled the work to be done on the same day. Mike was also responsive when I kept adding to my "to-do" list and didn't charge me for every single task. I would highly recommend them!

My homeowners' association wanted the work done. I got four estimates, including one from Tree Pros. I chose them to do the work because they had the best price (with a coupon; without the coupon, they would have been second cheapest) and also because of their high rating on Angie's List. Mike alerted me to the fact that I would need permission from the Columbia Association. My homeowners' association hadn't informed me of that. Although he could have come out to do the work the following week, he waited for me to go through the process with the Columbia Association. The guys did a great job.

They did a very good job for a very reasonable price. They were true to their word, kept to the schedule they had set. I would hire them again. They were easy to schedule with, they came out and gave an estimate which was reasonable. They assessed what they would need to do and warned me that they would need to drive through the yard with heavy equipment which could create ruts in the yard. Due to the layout, the size of the trees, and the equipment needed to remove the trees, I understood. I scheduled an appointment with them, which they kept. They did a nice job removing both large trees, hauling them away, and grinding the stumps all the way down. I did have to have the ruts in the yard filled but that was unavoidable and I very much appreciated that they had been very forthcoming about what to expect. It was a good experience with a good company!

Overall, everything was fine. They were quick and got right to work. They really asked for my input in how I would like the trees to be shaped, and then removed some limbs from other trees. I would hire them again.

The representative from the company responded to my inquiry right away and provided a written estimate free of charge. The estimate was clearly outlined. A calendar date was scheduled. The hurricane hit and we were taken off the schedule so more urgent customers could be taken care of. This was understandable but frustrating for us. The representative who gave us the quote walked the crew through the yard the day of the work. He left and the crew focused on the job. The crew was very polite and efficient. They left a clean work site. They seemed a little rushed as they had fallen behind schedule. Everything looked good. Upon closer inspection I noticed two of the large stumps were not ground very well and one small stump hidden by an azalea bush was missed. I called the office to comment on this. They sent one of the crew back the next day to fix the problem without question. The representative did not return to walk the site to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. All in all a very good experience.

The work went great. Got four estimates from the top four tree companies on Angieslist. Three of the four quotes were within the same price range including Tree Pros, but Tree Pros was the best quote. Representatives from the companies were quick to come and give a quote. The two of the four representatives did a thorough inspection of the damage to determine the extent of work. All but one were willing to explain how they planned to remove the debris. I explained that my neighbor and I were going 50/50 even thought the bulk of the damage was on her property, I felt that she should not bear the brunt of the cost. Tree Pros workers were polite, hard working, fast, worked with me throughout the removal process and whatever I wanted done they did. Had to unhook a chain link fence so they could remove debris from my neighbors yard and they were extremely careful not to nock down any of the posts. My neighbor was concerned about her driveway as she just had it put in at a large cost, so the workers used my side yard and put down plywood to protect my turf. They cleaned up the yard before finishing. I think I made the right choice in contractor.

Everything was GREAT! Responded quickly to email request for an estimate, estimate was done and provided less than 3 days later, Work was done a week later. I didn't need to be home for any of it! They even left a self addressed stamp envelope for me to mail my payment in. GREAT customer service and great work performed.

This is the second time I've used Tree Pros, and I'm very happy with them. My phone call was taken promptly and Mike came out very quickly to look at the tree. (I was impressed with how soon he was able to come out because we had just had a heavy storm, and he was probably getting lots of calls.) He told me that the tree needed to come down, and gave me a great price. The work was done quickly and efficiently. I am especially impressed with Tree Pros because my property is six steps higher than the street, and a lot of tree companies told me they couldn't get their stump grinders onto my yard. Mike at Tree Pros was the first professional I found who was willing to use a ramp to get the equipment onto my property and get the job done. Hurray!
