Our cleaning service had a small (~4sq”) bleach accident on our carpet. Rather than cutting and patching, we used Colorful Carpets to dye the spot. I was skeptical, but figured we could go the cut and patch route it the dye job didn’t work. Wow, was I wrong! Jason from Colorful Carpets did an excellent job. You literally cannot tell where the bleached spot was. I can not recommend them highly enough!

All appeared to go well until the areas dried, and the bleach spots reappeared.  When we contacted the company, we spoke to Debbie (who booked the initial appointment for service), who informed us that they had many "larger" jobs booked for that week, and that she would not be able to tell me when someone would be able to come back out to address the issue.  Finally, after another week, I called again, and spoke directly to the "owner," which was the same person who came out to perform the initial service, and after explaining to him that the spots returned, he stated that his staff never told him about my complaint, and that he had no knowledge of the problem.  He stated that he would speak to his staff, and get back to me later that evening.
About 8 p.m. the same evening Wednesday, 8/7/2013), Debbie called me, and asked if the owner could come back on Friday.  I stated that there would be no one home most of the day on Friday (8/9/2013), but that if he could come early, that someone would be home.   Debbie then stated that he would arrive at 8 am to correct the problem, and asked who the owner would be meeting.  I replied that both of us (my niece and I) would be at home.
Sure enough, on Friday morning after noticing that the owner had not arrived at 8 am as scheduled.  I opened my front door to see if the truck was outside (approximately 8:02 am), and noticed that one of their business cards was stuck in a crack in the door, with no name, time, or anything written on it.  No one ever knocked on my door or called my phone that morning.  When i called the business to report what happened, Debbie stated that "he" had been there and "he knocked on the door and called several times...", and that if I wanted him to come back out to resolve the problem, that "he" would have to "charge me to return".
I feel very taken advantage of, and as if I've been swindled out of money in my own home.  I will never use this company again, nor would I refer them to anyone!  Let the Buyer Beware!

"Thank you for taking the time to share your comments, [member name removed]. As a matter of fact we DID arrive exactly on time this past Friday morning at 8:00 (an early morning appointment to accommodate you) and knocked on the door repeatedly but there was no answer. We then tried to call you but the phone immediately went into voicemail. We knocked very loudly two more times but there was no answer. So we left our business card in the door to show that we had come. The only other way that we could have come in would have been to force our entry through the locked door. It is not so unusual for bleach spots to return after they have been repaired. This is not due to any negligence or mistakes on the part of the dye technician, but rather is due to the nature of the chemical in the carpet. Certain chemicals, if very strong, may require additional neutralization treatments to fully remove or deactivate the chemical. In the event that a follow-up visit is required we normally charge a minimal fee to cover our travel expense as we are not the ones who put the chemical in the carpet in the first place. In your case we opted to come back at no additional charge because you're located very close to us. But since no one answered the door we would now have to make a THIRD visit to your house, hence the $25.00 return trip fee. We feel that this is very fair and reasonable. Especially since our invoice/contract clearly states that there is a $100 minimum return trip charge. We apologize for the delay in returning to your house, but we did attempt to come there. We are the very best in the industry and that creates a high demand for our services which can make it very challenging to accommodate every customer in the time frame in which they would like it completed by. You will recall that when we initially came out to your residence that we came on a Sunday, a day that we are normally closed. We did this to accommodate you as we would not have been available for at least another two weeks. We also charged you only $200 because when you contacted us you told us that you had two bleached areas. When we arrived we found five bleached areas, yet we honored our original quote of $200. No one has taken advantage of you, nor have you been swindled. If you would like us to return to your home, please call us and let us know. We would be happy to speak with you if the swearing and accusations are restrained. We will leave your comments here for all to see as we believe that what makes a company great is not whether or not they ever have issues or problems to deal with, but rather how they choose to deal with them and ultimately ensure the happiness of their customers. If you change your mind, please let us know. We stand behind our work and our commitment to excellence and good customer service. We will be happy to waive the return fee to facilitate an amicable solution. Cordially, Colorful Carpets."

I WAS GIVEN THE COST TO CLEAN AND REDYE MY CARPETS. WHEN I AGREED TO THE PRICE, THEY TOOK THE CARPETS THAT SAME DAY. I WAS ADVISED THEY WOULD KEEP THEM FOR 2 WEEKS. THEY WERE RETURNED IN THE ALLOTTED TIME AND I CAN ONLY SAY I WAS MOST PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. MY ORIENTAL CARPETS LOOKED AND FELT LIKE NEW.
