I did a lot of research before I selected Irene Abdou as my photographer. I am very exacting with high expectations. As an ophthalmologist, I wanted photos that would represent me in a professional light yet have my personality come through in the images. I was extremely pleased with the whole process and love my photos. I am including some of my favorites in the review. She interviewed me so that she understood what I wanted and gave me some suggestions. I was interested in business headshots as well as personal branding. We decided to do the photoshoot at the office and the surgical center. We chose different looks and Irene guided me the whole time with creativity and an artistic bent with both my posing as well as the surrounding environment. I was ambivalent about the outcome because of my age as I am 58 years old. She made me look fantastic without altering my natural look. We reviewed all the photos together immediately after the photoshoot. They are high quality and look like they belong in a professional brochure. Everything was done in a timely fashion. She is a pleasure to work with and proved to be a consummate professional.

Irene was extremely efficient at getting great headshots and team portraits for our real estate team. It was evident that she wanted to get the best photos that she could - she had us pose in many different positions, and she got in many different positions herself to obtain the best photos that she could! We were impressed at how she helped the four of us to decide on the final photos so quickly, right there at the photo shoot. Prior to the photo shoot she gave us many tips on preparing for the shoot. We would definitely recommend her!

The pictures Irene took was amazing. I do not have that nature smile that most people have when taking pictures . Irene brought that smile out in every picture. I was so impressed with her work. Thanks again for making my 60th birthday photo shoot amazing.

Irene was a consummate professional from start to finish. She was clear in describing the services she provides and suggested the perfect site for our photo shoot--outdoors, casual but sophisticated. She made me feel comfortable the entire time. Although I am older than Irene's usual online dating clients, at no time was age an issue, and she made me look fabulous! She also suggested appropriate clothing and was flexible when it came to my suggestions. I would definitely recommend Irene for anyone's photography needs.

From start to finish the entire experience was excellent. Irene was exceptional and professional throughout the entire process. I like the fact that I was included in the process and was able to collaborate with her on the final result. Kudos to Irene for a job well done!

My girlfriend and I have been together over 3 years now, and we decided we wanted to have some professional pictures taken together. We talked to Irene and were thrilled with how she approached the session. Neither one of us is a big fan of having our pictures taken, and we are critical of ourselves in them as well. Irene set up a planning session for us where we could pick where to have the shoot, and we chose her studio in her home. In her home, there are several areas that are used for shoots, and we chose what we liked the most for us. She also had us send her some pictures of us, both amateur/selfies and professional, that we both liked and didn't like, and then we discussed each of them and what we liked or didn't like about them. From all this, she got a feel for the kind of pictures we were looking for. She even gave advice on color coordinating my girlfriend's dress with my shirt/shorts. On the day of the shoot, Irene and her assistant guided us through lots of different poses, none of them feeling unnatural like so many other photography sessions I've been in. We felt at ease and comfortable and actually enjoyed the shoot. We set up our ordering appointment a couple weeks later to view the photos and order what we liked. When I saw the pictures, they literally brought me to tears. They were wonderful, and our love for each other was perfectly captured in the images! We were both so happy with how they came out. We opted to purchase the package of digital copies of 10 images, in both high res and low res (for social media, email, etc.). We then gathered orders from family and ordered prints online (I used adoramapix.com). I even made a collage out of the 8 prints we chose of us as a couple, and one of each of our individual prints for each of us to have. We couldn't have been happier with the whole process and the product. Irene is absolutely wonderful to work with!

I've used the services of numerous professional photographers over the years, but my experience with Irene Abdou Photography was by far and away better than my experience with any other photographer - ever. I hired Irene to create some business portraits of me for use on a new website, book cover, business card, and other marketing materials. Irene: (1) took the time to understand specifically what I wanted in the headshots, (2) she looked at previous business portraits I had had taken and asked me what I liked or didn’t like about them, (3) she suggested what I should wear for the photo session, (4) she brainstormed with me about locations for the headshot session that would be relevant to my business as an Intellectual Property attorney, (5) she made me feel comfortable during the photo session, (6) she never made me feel rushed during the photo session, (7) she showed me my headshots during the photo session to ensure she had captured pictures that I was thrilled with, (8) she worked with me in my decisions as to which business portraits were the best, (9) she touched the headshots up, and (10) she sent the hi-resolution digital files to me without delay. She also went above and beyond in that even several months after the job was complete, I went back to Irene to request her feedback on which image would be best for a book cover, and she went so far as to provide me her recommendation and modify the horizontal image to vertical for me to fit the cover. Working with Irene was a partnership… and that is something that I’ve never experienced with any of the previous professional photographers that I’ve worked with. I'm in the process of replacing all of the older headshots of me on various websites with one or more of the headshots Irene took of me. My initial reaction when I first spoke with Irene was that her prices were high, but after reviewing her portfolio again, I decided to make the leap. In the end, the photos taken by Irene are great, the results more than justified the price, and I couldn't be happier with the investment I made in these headshots. If your primary concern is low cost, then Irene wouldn’t be the right photographer for you. But if your primary concerns are high quality, value, and an amazing experience, then call Irene! All in all, my experience with Irene was outstanding and I've finally located a professional photographer whose services I will use for years to come for my work and family photography. I'm planning on having Irene take family portraits for us in the near future and I’m looking forward to an album and updating several of the family portraits we have on the walls.

We had a plan session to discuss what I was looking for, where we would shoot, and what I should wear. Her house is set up with multiple locations from a bed, different couches and rugs, and staircase. The day of the session she made me feel very comfortable. We went through the three locations and three outfits. The next step was a review session. The photos were amazing!!! It was hard to narrow it down. Irene wa very helpful and made the process fun. The final album exceed my expectations. I am looking forward to using Irene for another boudoir session and family portraits.

I found myself in need of a professional head shot for a prospective employer, and on short notice. I contacted Irene and she responded almost immediately. She went out her way to accommodate the short deadline. The entire thing was a great experience. Irene was not only professional throughout the entire session, but she was also very personable. She was extremely concerned that I was comfortable with everything, every step of the way. She made me feel not only at ease, but at home. It made the entire thing fun and enjoyable. The end product was an exceptional photo with which I am very pleased. I would highly recommend her for any event for which you want high quality professional photographs.

Irene is absolutely awesome! I had been looking for a photographer for over a year that had high quality work and a unique style. I found Irene on Angies List and knew when I reviewed her work on her web site that she was exactly what I was looking for. Her professionalism, approachable personality, and creativity is, in my opinion, what all photographers should strive for. Before we had any of our sessions, she talked with me for nearly an hour to get to know me and tailor her approach to what I was looking for. She asked if I had any specific locations in mind which I did. We discussed some locations she knew of that were suitable for what I was looking for as well the we decided to do the first session of only me at a Park and the second father-daughter portrait session at the location I had in mind. Irene ran with it from there setting up everything, getting us access to all the facilities, providing advice on what to wear, and all I needed to do was show up and be ready to smile. Both sessions went absolutely perfectly and were a total blast. The hard part was picking out which of the fantastic photos we wanted during the photo reveal session. I keep recommending Irene to everyone that sees her work which is consistantly drawing compliments and praises. If you're looking for a photographer to capture any special memory your search is over....call Irene Abdou and from start to finish she will deliver at the highest standard.

My experience with Irene was probably one of the most enjoyable professional encounters I have ever had. She conducted an in-depth phone consultation before the session to set up expectations and a framework for selecting exactly the type of photograph I required. I felt that this consultation also helped me clarify what I was looking for and for once, I had no worries about inevitably being disappointed by the results.

My session was conducted in my home, and I enjoyed the relaxed, yet professional ease with which Irene conducted the session. She herself is such an quite interesting person to talk to, and our conversation was so engaging that I often forgot that I was being photographed. I was more comfortable than I have ever been being photographed and extremely pleased with he results. I felt that Irene's photos made me appear as I appear in my imagination - not as a movie star but not as God-awful as I often look in candid cell-phone shots, rather, as a not unattractive, approachable and professional business professional, perfectly capturing the image I wanted as an education consultant.

We selected the two headshots that very same day, and the final versions were ready within 48 hours. She provided high-resolution versions for printing and web-resolution for social media. I have already uploaded the web-versions and they fit perfectly into my social media and business website formats.

In summary, Irene provided extremely high-quality product in a pleasant environment that is absolutely commensurate with the pricing.

As I am not especially photogenic, I don't love having my picture taken. (I am usually the one at family gatherings HOLDING the camera, not in front of it!).
Irene Abdou made me feel very comfortable. She arrived exactly on time, set-up quickly, and took photos with seemingly little effort.

For my 20th anniversary, I wanted to give my husband something he couldn't just buy himself. I found Irene online and loved that she did all types of photos. I sent her an email, and within a few hours she called me back and we started brainstorming of all the different types of sessions we could do. We decided to go for an and quot;intimateand quot; shoot, something I never really saw myself doing. She walked me through all the preparations, attire and location details. She even helped me book the hair and makeup artist - which was wonderful by the way!
The photo session went very well, and she made me feel very comfortable, never staged in any way. My husband was blown away at the book! Something we will both cherish for years to come.
From start to finish, Irene was great. I plan to use her again for family and senior portraits. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to get portraits that are truly amazing, artistic and personal.

I happen to know a number of professional photographers, and have a number of friends and family members who have taken pictures of me in the last 30 years, but there are very few pictures of me that look like me and that I like. I need images for professional reasons and since Irene Abdou had made me feel comfortable when I met her at a party, I decided to hire her. She sent a contract ahead of time and I signed it electronically knowing in writing exactly what to expect.
Irene came to my home for an executive portrait session when she said she would, contacting me ahead of time to confirm. In less than an hour, she had shot some very nice photos in several different poses, making me feel comfortable from beginning to end. Her assistant handled lighting; the session was outdoors. She checked in with me every 10 or so images to get my feedback through the camera. We whittled the 12 or so good shots down to 4 great ones and then spent a little more time selecting the two finalists. Irene went off to digitally process the pictures and emailed them to me the next day (today!) It was a sweet experience for someone who usually freezes up being photographed.
Irene is very personable - she clearly really likes people and is an excellent listener - and so her personality made the session very pleasant.The final images are excellent and I am very satisfied that I can represent myself professionally with them AND I can share them with my loved ones and they will like the pictures, too!
I highly recommend Irene Abdou's photographic services. $500 may seem like a lot of money for two images -- it initially did to me -- but when you consider travel time to my place, the expensive equipment, her training, an assistant, her professionalism, etc. it is really a very fair deal.

After scheduling the photography session, Irene followed up with us imediately on how to prepare prior to our photo shoot by emailing us some items to review and gave good detailed instructions about how to prepare for the photo shoot, some ideas on what to and not to wear, and showed us how to take pictures of the walls inside our home so that she can transpose the photos she took on some of the walls of our condo to get a better picture (ha ha) of how the photos may look when put up. I thought this was very neat and helpful in getting the most our of our and quot;photo revealand quot; session.
Admittedly, I somehow did not follow her instructions the way it was discribed and Irene followed up with me both by email and phone to ensure that I understood what we needed to do. Her patience and additional guidance was very helpful since it could have delayed what she needed to have prepared for the photo reveal which would soon follow our photo shoot.
I also then explained to her that I decided to propose to my partner sometime during the photo shoot. Irene congratulated me and asked which location on our photo and quot;routeand quot; would be my preference for the proposal. I confirmed with her a couple of possible locations and she was able to capture the moment smoothly on film. As we went on after the proposal to complete the rest of our photos for the session, Irene took additional time beyond the agreed upon one hour to make sure we were able to take photos at the last stop we were hoping to get to. This was very thoughful and really showed us how excited she was for us and in capturing some really great photos through the end.
Irene was puntual and flexible (we had to delay our session for one day since it was raining the day of the photo shoot). This was easy to change and Irene accomodated our re-scheduling to help ensure that we have the best possible weather for the day of our photo session. After the photo session, she worked with us on a photo package, which was worth every penny! Irene has a very laid back, comforting approach with people and she made us feel very comfortable during every step of the way. She let us be ourselves and captured some really wonderful photosof us. We would highly recommend Irene to anyone looking for a friendly, professional, timely, and quality photographer. Thanks, Irene!
