A to Z Inspection Services
About us
A to Z Inspection Services provides home inspection services by a certified and licensed professional. It is our job to work with you and help you to understand everything about the structure. The BEST inspection takes time, experience, and having the right tools for the job. An inspection is non-invasive. Inspectors do not tear down walls to see what is behind them. Tools like the moisture meters and a thermal imaging camera help to recognize what the eye can't see.

Steven and his associate were very prompt, professional and provide me with a very detailed report on all aspects of his inspection and findings.
I am a first time home buyer, and I could not have asked for a better inspector going into that scary situation. He was confident but not arrogant, thorough, and forthright but not a doomsday bringer, which I needed badly when we found bowing basement walls with signs of water leakage and mold.
He gave suggestions where appropriate but was careful not to overstep the scope of his work.
I kept notes about things he told me for future reference.
If I had to buy another home tomorrow, I would want the A to Z team on my side again.

Provided a complete and thorough 61-page inspection report within 1 day of the inspection. Organized inspected items by room, with easy to understand language and accompanying photos throughout. Each item was given a code which was explained at the beginning of the report. This made it easier to pick out and organize the items we wanted to list for repair and/or replacement by the seller.
Overall, very pleased with the service - I would definitely pick them again!
The second part of the report is an explanation in a page or paragraph on the why it needs repair or replacement.
I received the e-mail report Monday morning. The inspection was done on a Friday.
Steve takes pictures: if he says your missing a fire detector you get a picture of the empty socket. Doctor says I can't climb ladders. Up on the top floor in the master bathroom there is a stain on the ceiling over the bathtub. It kept getting bigger. I wondered if it was from the roof. Maybe from a snow dam or a torn piece of shingle. Steve stuck a moisture detector in it. It was ok.
Steve climbed a ladder to inspect the attic. I have a light switch that goes no where in the laundry room on the top floor of our town house. I don't know what it's connected to. Steve said, " You got a light in the attic". Really said I. I made a beeline to the laundry room and threw the switch. Steve snapped a picture of the light lit. I never went up in the attic in the ten years I lived there. Not even to see that the dryer vent was connected properly.- Got a picture to prove it. I also saw pictures of inside the roof -no water stains. No leaking roof.
Later that day, Steve pulled a visual with binoculars and I needed a shingle replaced. -$150
He used his moisture detector on the discolored wood floor under the toilet. Failed. It wasn't a question of bad marksmanship it was a broken flange.
We used the same company a second time (different inspector) on a different house and received the same thorough, high quality inspection as the first time. Both of our inspectors had a tremendous amount of general contractor experience and knew how to thoroughly go through every inch of the house.
To his credit, the inspector checked the attic.
I was originally quoted the condo price but then was told when he arrived that I would be charged the price for townhomes because the condo was two floors. There is no basement and he did not inspect a roof, but did look at the outdoor A/C unit. When I inquired about this pricing change, I was told it was because of the square footage. When I looked up the square footage clause on the website, I was then told I would be charged the originally quoted condo fee.
I sign his praises! He was thorough, kind, on-time and extremely responsive. I'd use him again in a heartbeat!
Very helpful, very organized, very knowledgeable. We would 100% use again!
"Dear Mr. [Member Name Removed], It is my understanding that you were unhappy with the home inspection service provided to you on July 11 2014. I was disappointed to find that you gave A to Z Inspection Services a less than glowing review on Angie's List. Had you brought this matter to my attention immediately after the inspection, I would have taken the time to explain how the inspection report is designed. The 2 items you claimed were missed during the inspection as well as in the inspection report were in fact inspected and addressed in the report. Please take a look at our comments in the Summary Report section at: Page 30, Item 6, Attic Electrical Recessed lights inside attic are not IC lights. If a light fixture is intended for direct contact with isolation, it will require an IC rating (IC stands for Insulation Contact). We recommend that each light is boxed. This will ensure no insulation comes in contact with lights and also increase energy efficiency inside the home. Page 45, item 1, Basement/Crawlspace Walls Moisture intrusion was observed at the rear of the home. Moisture can produce numerous types of damage to a home. Recommend another licensed professional review the area for correct water intrusion at this time. Mr. [Member Name Removed], we take our business and reputation very seriously and strive to make our customers happy with our inspections and customer service. A to Z Inspection Services has had favorable ratings on Angie's list for over 3 years. If you are satisfied with my response above, I would appreciate your contacting Angie's List to retract your review. If you are still not satisfied, give me a call and let's talk about it.
