They came out in July and charged my almost 500 dollars to add Freon and replace a 5 dollar part. Unit they added Freon to, lasted less than 1 day. Came out this week again (9/4) and without asking put 6 lbs of Freon in one unit, turned my other unit off, put lots of pressure for me to finance another unit, and charged me almost 1000. Next day, back to NO AC, and it is almost 100 degrees outside. They only cared about selling me new units, since I wasn't interested they had no interest in actually fixing my unit. I have no proof they actually put as much Freon in as they said they did, and at the end of the day, they did nothing to troubleshoot or repair the units, only bled me of my money. NOW I don't have the money to have it fixed by a legit company!

Very well, wife pleased with their laying down plastic to protect the carpet and wood floors, they vacuumed and cleaned up well after finishing the attic unit, the basement unit used new copper piping which was done well, insulation replaced and both units tested for high pressure leaks and operation.

Service person told me we needed Freon in our Outdoor Unit and we needed nine pounds. The cost was quoted as $100.00 per pound. Also stated the Coil in the Indoor Air Handler needed replaced. That is covered under the Trane Limited Warranty but I was told for Labor to install and weld the Coil and nine pounds of Freon the cost would be $1350.00.

My husband is very ill and our finances are limited so I could not go ahead with this repair at that time.

Good thing. It was a blessing in disguise. We would of been taken.

Another company was recommended to me by a relative and that company found a loose Shrader Valve on the Outside Unit. Tightened the valve and replaced the Two pounds of Freon (Not nine). And their cost per pound was $60.00 not $100.00. Total cost for repair was $209.00! Big difference from $1350.00.

Its sad that people feel to make a profit they have to take advantage of people. I had thought the repair person was so nice. Showed me a picture of his dog and daughter! Geez, how easy I would of been taken.

I am on an annual service contract (~$400/year). They are good about reminders and work with you very well on getting the same repair tech out to your house. There is always a 4 hour window; but, they try to get you at the beginning to minimize wait time. Plus, they call you when they are in route. That permits me to leave work to meet them there.

When Bill showed up after two hours he diagnosed the coolant solidified and blocked the circulation. He also recommended a service agreement which I paid for. I paid for half the amount due. One week later without A/C Bill replaced the coil, but three hours labor later he diagnosed the inner coil needed replacing leaving without making the heat pump running with A/C. Before Bill left, I complained about the lack of A/C despite the work done and the hours I took off for the lack of achievement. I did not pay for the balance due. Three days later Brandon showed and in one hour operated the A/C with cool air flowing through the vents. What a difference air technicians make! Also the parts were under warranty, which the company researched. He diagnosed the module was not regulating the inside blower. Six days later Brandon replaced the module along with the harness. I paid the remainder of the bill after looking at the broken part. When getting service with Tri-county Aire, ask for Brandon or Starr. Do not have Bill work on your HVAC.

Mr. Starr arrived with a meekness but confidence about him. I introduced myself to him, but he did not. He wore his name on his uniform along with the business logo. He asked what was the problem and I told him the heat pump did not turn on. He checked the thermostat and asked to check the fuse box. No circuit was found broken yet. He then went to the crawlspace after asking for snakes or other dangerous animals. He thoroughly looked for any problems. Seven minutes of silence later, he turned on and off the unit and changed a rusty fuse. He then checked the outside unit and explained to me (paraphrasing) "the heat pump turns on and off because of the auxiliary heat warming the house with several degress difference versus the conversion of air to heat with a few degrees difference with thermostat setting" I explained that this solved three years, many hundreds of dollars, and several maintenance calls to this problem, and he listened. I gladly paid him his worth of labor. I felt like I would finally save more money this fall and winter.

The service was great. The men were both professional. They covered their feet to protect our floor, which I appreciated. They very carefully explained what they were doing and the need for it.

Overall, they seem very put together, but I would expect them to at least meet me half way instead of just blindly saying it couldn't have been the tech's fault. I didn't press them on it, just gave up as I won't deal with a company that won't admit a possible mistake.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS VERY GOOD, TECHNICIAN WAS VERY COMPETENT. HE CLEARLY EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND MY OPTIONS. HE RECOMMENDED ADDING A DYE TO THE REFRIGERANT SO IF THE SYSTEM LOST CHARGE AGAIN, WHICH IT SOON DID, HE COULD IDENTIFY THE LOCATION OF THE LEAK. I WAS CONFIDENT HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS EXPENSIVE.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD. TWO TECHNICIANS ARRIVED ON TIME, THEY GOT RIGHT TO WORK, THEY WERE PLEASANT, RESPONSIVE AND SEEMED COMPETENT. THEY ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS AND DID WHAT I ASKED IN TERMS OF ENSURING THE WORK WAS DONE ACCORDING TO WHAT THE SALESMAN TOLD ME.
