Good - Re sodding went well with old sod removed, topsoil laid & new sod laid. Bed clean up done well, mulching mostly done well. Workers arrived on time and were pleasant to deal with. Clean up also done well. Not as good - Apparently ran out of mulch as a portion of the front border was not completed. The branch removal was not as expected. Work was done by getting on the roof and cutting overhanging branches. They will grow back quickly. I had expected that, for the price charged for this portion ($650) the branches would be removed closer to or at the tree. It's possible this was a communication error, but I felt that the price charged was much too high for the work done. It took 2 workers less than a half hour to complete the task.

I was not pleased with the landscaping portion, they did a new whole sod of my front yard. I have been trying to get in contact with him, I have been speaking with his assistant. I know he is busy, but it is hard to get in contact with him. I have taken pictures of the actual work where the spots were. It seems like there were spots where the grass was brown. And this was right after the work was done and everything else was green. I told him about it and he told me maybe I am not watering it, I had him come look at it first hand and he told me to give it about a month and keep watering and see what happens. There is some grass growing through there but it is not the same kind of grass. It is like weeds or something. The steps looked great. He did drop the price down for me. When I spoke to him he did tell me we can find a resolution. They were professional. i feel like once they got the money they were just done.

It went EXCELLENT from start to finish.They laid that new flower bed BETTER than the original . If you desire Quality work from people with ego's are strong enough not to be concerned with your (complexion) this is the company,and i stand by my words!!

The owner came out, looked at my property and listened to my vision. Based on what I wanted, he gave advice on how the project could be slightly modified and still meet my needs. His staff was very professional and they did an awesome job. It was a great value for the price, and I've already recommended them to friends and family.

The crew arrived on time and went right to work.  The crew manager answered all our questions as they were doing the work.
Regarding their cleanup, they actually left my yard and flower beds in much better shape than when they started!!
We were very satisfied and will use JA & Sons Landscaping for any future work.

I contacted Joel (the owner) to have him come out an give me an estimate of the costs for building a stone retaining wall to fix an erosion issue on my property.  Joel immediately came out to the property with a day or two of the initial call and examined the area.  He prepared a detailed estimate and emailed it to me within a week of viewing the property.
The initial estimate was for more money than I had initially budgeted for the project.  I let Joel know what my budget was and he was able to make minor adjustments (type of stone, height of wall)  to the project to accommodate my budget.  He prepared another estimate with the updated specifications and cost -- I accepted.  I mailed the signed contract with one-third deposit to begin the project.
I asked Joel for references and he was able to supply me with the address of a recent client in of his in my neighborhood where he performed the same exact job I was requesting.  I was able to examine the quality of the company's work and deemed it was of very good quality.
Joel and I were able to schedule a project start date.  Initially there was a very small delay of a few days due to the local Home Depot not having the specific stone I needed in stock.  Once the materials were available Joel and his crew arrived on site around 9 AM to begin the job.  Joel and his team were able to excavate the area and completely build the wall in one day.  The wall was complete by the time I arrived home that evening.  I was very pleased with the quality of the work and I would use them again for other projects.

It went great.  I was not at home when they arrived however I was very pleasantly surprised when I got home.  I really appreaciate them.

They were very detailed with the edging. It was very sharp and looked very good when they were done. They also mulched the area when they were done. Even through this winter season the yard still looks very manicured. We will definitely be using them again next year.

The job took several days. Ja and Sons came on time and the workmen were polite and professional. They did an outstanding job, cleaning up debris and yard waste and replanting any areas of grass that had been dug up in the process of completing the job. Any changes to the plan were discussed with us prior to being made and they stayed true to their estimate. I highly recommend this company and would absolutely use them again.

JA and Sons were fantastic, from start to finish. They were very responsive...they actually answered the phone and returned calls, which most contractors do not do! They came out on a Saturday morning to discuss the project, take measurements and even gave us an approximate cost. They gave us design books and helped us to pick out quality materials that would compliment other brick and stonework around our house. They were professional, polite, courteous and did an amazing job. We were 100% satisfied with the result and will recommend them to friends and neighbors.

I had contacted many companies to do the work but most did not bother to return my email and phone calls.
This company responded immediately and gave, what I feel, is a very inexpensive estimate.
I had to point out to them which plants to save. I did loose a few that I wanted, but it was all such a mess that I can't get too upset about it. It took more than 9 man hours to get some semblence of order to the yard.

They did the work for us and initially the porch and the colors looked good but after 1 year the porch began sinking on one side of the steps. It's very noticeable and someone that repaired it for us since then advised that it would have eventually come loose because it was only supported by sand and not sand and gravel. We've found better contractors to call on since and won't be calling J A and Sons again.
