He gladly pointed out a few potential issues with the unit (for me to keep an eye on) and answered my random questions. I trust Jeff completely, which is rare with a contractor. He seems to have our best interest in mind, rather than suggesting a variety of services to pad his charges. In fact, I've been considering a modification that would be quite pricey. Jeff suggested trying a few free things first before pursuing it any further.
Great guy, great service!
At his suggestion, we called him back in June to do a routine inspection of our air conditioner as we felt it didn't work at optimum conditions. The day we scheduled for him to come out, he was an hour late. I called him after 45 minutes of waiting and he did not answer his phone or call me back. Around 20 minutes later he just showed up. He apologized but it was weak and lacking any sincerity. It was upsetting because he was schedule to come at 5:30 PM and my fiancand eacute; and I rushed home to meet him. He didn't arrive until 6:45 PM. What we thought would be a 20 minute inspection lasted until 8:30 PM. At this point we were irritated as we wanted to make and eat dinner together but we had Jeff walking back and forth through the kitchen and basement checking out the AC. Had he been on time this wouldn't have been an issue regarding time.
He said he figured out the issue and would come back to replace the part that needed replacing. We agreed a week from that date would be fine and said 5 PM so he had enough time to do the work.
Well, a week later 5 PM rolls around and no show. Finally at 5:30 PM my fiancand eacute; called him and left a message as he didn't answer the phone. When I arrived home around 6 PM I called him and left a voicemail with no answer. We made dinner and by 8:30 PM officially gave up. He never showed up. He never answered our calls. He never called us back.
I do not think we will work with Jeff again. While he seemed to be knowledgable I absolutely refuse to work with someone so mismanaged and outright rude. I work in business, I get it... but I refuse poor customer service.
If you don't care about your own personal time- then Jeff is your man!
The day arrived and he was supposed to be at the house between 9 and 9 30. By 10 45 I figured he had forgotten about the appointment, so I called his office and left a message. Roughly 5 minutes later he called and said he had two emergency and quot;no heatand quot; calls to deal with. Understandable, but a heads up would have been nice. He showed up around 11 30 and went right to work. He finished up around 3 and had me follow him downstairs to take a look at everything to show me how to work the modifications he installed. Everything looked great. I wrote out his check and left.
Later that evening I went downstairs to show my wife and noticed the old supply grill (now used as the return grill) was still on. We agreed that he would replace it because the original had a broken latch. I emailed him that night and he said it was an unusual size and he would keep an eye out for the part. This left me wondering why he didn't mention it when we were downstairs.
A couple weeks go by and I was becoming concerned that I would never see or hear from Jeff again. I email Jeff and he responds back that he has a grill he thinks will work. He schedules an appointment for and quot;around 9 30and quot; and shows up at almost 11. He goes downstairs, flips a grill around (as I requested) and replaced the old grill with the new one.
Overall experience: Jeff is a hard worker and knows his HVAC equipment. He is a nice guy and approachable, but not very prompt. I deducted a point for that and him not telling me about the grill. In the end everything was fixed up nicely, so I would definitely use him again.
