I had checked All State out on Angie's List and the Better Business Bureau and knew they had a good reputation and good feedback from customers, and they did not let us down. We would definitely call them again for another job.
"There were many issues here. First we contracted to do a porch and door. We were never able to do the porch due to a variance issue with Baltimore City. We learned this after we had put in a lot of time and facilitation to work we were not performing. We wanted to do the porch because that was the profitable part of the job. We do not do interior work, however, we referred the client to someone who had completed several interior jobs for many of my family members. We facilitated the purchase of cheaper kitchen cabinets for the client at one of our siding suppliers who also sells cabinets, saving them over $1000. We supplied a dumpster for the kitchen work, even though we were not contracted to do so. In the end we needed to reframe out the masonry work and install the door, and that was all of the work we were able to do. Once it was clear we had spent an inordinate amount of time and effort with very little work and no profit, we returned the deposit money for the porch. I can assure all potential clients, now that I am the sole owner of this business, we have changed our policies, and no longer take deposits on work we are not 100% sure of completing. I apologize to the (member name removed) for their trouble, and have made great strides insuring this never happens again. Sincerely, Stephen Snyder President, ASHIC"
