+ 0 moreWe were building a single car garage and leaving room on one side for another car. We looked at the stakes and it was clear that a car would not fit in either space without a several point turn to get it in and letting the passenger out first. We cancelled the garage and asked for our deposit back, minus the funds already spent. We never heard from Stanley again despite frequent calls and emails. We are working to recover the money, but no luck yet.
Description of Work: Stanley Taylor of Southern Floors and Acoustics signed a contract with us to build a garage for 32,000 and we gave him a 16,000 deposit. The project was supposed to be complete within 30-45 days. On day 30, my husband and I, who were still not moved into our new house, came to VA to check on progress. Stanley had taken down a wooden fence to make room for the garage, and a surveyor had staked out the area. No other work had been completed.
