The contractor was to arrive at 9:30 am, but arrived ahead of schedule (a big plus). In sort order he repaired the awkwardly positioned air handler. A few weeks prior to his arrival, the licensed HVAC pro who initially installed the system, spent almost a full day attempting to troubleshoot the leaks on the air handler. A part of his effort required him to work with the system pump as well. He was unable to fix the system even though he made calls to consult with other pros. He never returned although there were verbal agreements to return. Finally, my general contractor sent Mr. Russell Rabb. Mr. Russell made his repair in under an hour, and even advised me of a duct that needed to be secured better -- he did this adjustment at no additional charge. He also ran the system and waited a material amount of time to ensure that all was running well. Thankfully he did because he found that one of the pvc plumbing lines was leaking. It had never been sealed! He made the repair with the PVC cement. He was also conscientious enough to notice that the pump was also not working, advised my general contractor and so that a replacement pump could be purchased. He made the run to purchase the pump, returned in short order and installed the pump. He also educated me on the system, and advised me of other areas that were not installed using best practices, but where not serious -- for example, one of the plumbing lines should be directed toward the window, so that any system problems can be detected when water leakage is found by the homeowner. Instead, this pipe has also been connected to my drain lines. The result is that if my air handler has a problem, it will be more difficult for me detect. After approximately 5 months of working with my general contractor to get the system operable, and once operable, to make needed repairs do to a poor initial installation, it is finally 100% good-to-go.
Description of Work: The provider made repairs to the newly installed split system central air conditioning system. He repaired the poorly installed air handler, made minor taping repairs to flex duct, and replaced the new, defective pump.
