CABIN JOHN CONSTRUCTION INC

Don, the owner & general contractor, is a well-groomed, sociable man is his mid-30s. He drew-up a contract, seemed on the high-end, $11,800 (not including washer and dryer). We went with him because of his seeming professionalism and his assurance that things would get done in about a week. Quality of workmanship was quite good, nice attention to details. As per usual, he had other larger jobs. It took 5.5 weeks to finish. We did not rant and rage at him. Just kept calling him and asking to show up. He finally did it all. He stuck to the contract pretty closely, but we ended disagreeing about $1000.00 or so on some add-ons. The sink, simple $200 double from Home Depot, cost $800 to install (including his time to pick it up- read "add-on"). He was quite late with the floor, we offered to pick up the tile to move the process, he did not repay us or deduct. He disagreed about shelving, though the contract was clear. Over-run of $300. We painted it. In general, he was 'pissy' to deal with.
