Like many families i entered into a contract to build a pool this summer and decided to do an off contract deck build. I interviewed a few landscaping companies and decided to go with Horizon Outdoor Design. I met with the co-owner Mike and the communication was awesome. He was super thorough with the estimate and explained all phases of the project even when changes needed to be performed throughout the build. His crew came on time when scheduled, were personable and cleaned up each day to keep my neighbors happy. My wife and i are very satisfied with final build and will be enjoying our new backyard for years to come. I highly recommend Horizon Outdoor Design for your next landscaping project. Eugene

After moving into a new house in December, we noticed that there was a significant standing water issue whenever we got any measurable rainfall. This made it so we could not let our dog run in the backyard and effectively eliminated 1/3 of the yard from use. We had two landscape contractors give us quotes on how to alleviate the issue and Chris Hall came in at less than half of the other company. Horizon graded the back of the yard to eliminate the low spots, buried our three downspouts on the back of the house to stop flooding and erosion of the yard, and created a new bed out of River Jack stone and shade and water loving perennials, which also serves as the end point for the buried downspouts. We were thrilled with the communication and work performed. The guys who did the grading and installation were courteous and kept the area clean and went above expectations. We'll certainly use Horizon for any future needs.

After two failed (non-Angie's List) contractors, we contacted Horizon Outdoor Design. Mike Cole got back to us almost immediately, made a thorough survey of the job and gave a realistic time and cost estimate. The crew showed up on time and worked with admirable efficiency and competence. They were very accommodating to our special requirements. This was such a positive experience compare to your previous work with other contractors.

My experience with Horizon was superb. I highly recommend their services to anyone needing landscaping work. Chris is extremely responsive and I would most often get a response the same day, and the next morning at the latest. Their prices were half the cost of other competitors in the area but the quality of their work was still excellent. I am extremely happy with the work they did on my backyard and the hardscaping is beautiful. The crew is extremely professional and tidy. The worksite was cleaned by the end of each day and after the job was done, they reseeded the grass in any disrupted areas for free. I will definitely be using Horizon in the future for any landscaping needs.

This was a relatively simple project and they did a great job. What really impressed me though was the responsiveness of the owners (specifically Chris, who I worked with). He promptly called me back to schedule an estimate, he was able to get my project on the schedule exactly when I wanted, and he responded to my emails within a couple hours. The price was good too---a bit less than comparable quotes from other companies. I would highly recommend this company and would hire them again in the future.

I had hired a tree removal company in late Fall 2017.to remove a number of large and small trees. In early spring of 2018 I contacted Chris at Horizon to come in with a large load of topsoil and grading equipment to reseed in and around the area where the trees were removed. Much of the seeding was very spotty. I took some photos and sent them to Chris. He immediately committed to sending a crew back to aerate and reseed. They came in mid September, the grass has come in nicely...….Very good company. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to others.

It would be great if all contractors on Angie's List were are reliable, knowledgeable and responsive as Horizon Outdoor Design was. They were not the cheapest estimate for the work that I needed to be done, but I used them because Chris seemed to be the most knowledgeable of all the contractors whom I interviewed. Ultimately, they turned out to be worth every penny. The work was scheduled months in advance. When the time came for the work to be done they actually called and asked if they could do it a day early. It worked out beautifully. The project was a day and half project. They arrived on the first day at 8AM exactly as scheduled. The second day they arrived a bit before 8AM and immediately were at work. The 2 men who did my project worked hard. There was no idle time wasted. They did need to wait for several hours later in the day for a load of stone to arrive. As they waited, they still managed to find things to do to make the project even better. The work was finished on schedule and was done exactly as I hoped for and as had been discussed with Chris. Since then, their work has been thoroughly tested as we have experienced many days of torrential rain. The regrading and new stone field carried water away with absolutely no damage. Mission accomplished! I am a firm believer in the idea that you do get what you pay for. This job was the perfect example. Chris's expertise and the worker's attention to details have left me pleased and confident that my problem is solved. I will call Horizon again in the future as new outdoor projects spring up.

I could not be happier with Mike and his crew that worked on the project. Mike came up with great ideas on design and materials. Mike responded quickly to my questions and had great suggestions. The new retaining walls, steps and landing are incredible and exceeded my expectations. Mike added lights under the caps of the walls and up the steps. The crew also removed shrubs mulched and I had them outline the flower bed with stone edges. The crew was prompt, professional and worked great together. I would recommend them to anyone that needs this type of work to be done. Thanks to Mike and his crew I now have a house with great curb appeal.

These guys are great. This was the only company that was concerned about cutting a large root from a maple tree and decided to redesign the wall to look great and avoid just chopping through the root. They actually put thought into it! We are very pleased and they do fantastic work. The price was fair and I wish I used these guys for my patio a few years ago. We will definitely use them again.

Horizon was wonderful to work with. Their original quote was a bit beyond our budget, and they cheerfully worked with us to come up with a solution that was within budget, met our needs and allowed room for adding more plantings in the future. When a minor issue arose after the installation, they were also super responsive and addressed it the same day we contacted them. Would definitely use again!

Excellent. Horizon provided multiple options from which to choose for both patio stone as well as landscaping. They were punctual, reliable and very professional.

Horizon Outdoor Design recently completed our landscape and drainage projects and we are very pleased with the results. Chris Hall did a great job in helping us realize our vision with his design suggestions and professional execution. His three man crew did an amazing job in competing a project that included removing existing landscape and a concrete porch and sidewalk and replacing them with a new paver porch with railings and matching walkway. The old overgrown plants were replaced with with new plantings per Chris' design that greatly improved the curb appeal of our home. They installed edging and mulch to the sides of the house as well as a paver patio in the back yard. They also replaced a yard drain and installed an additional drain box to an existing line. Additional yard work, reseeding and cleanup was performed as well. All work was completed in six days (within the week to ten day timeframe we were initially quoted) by a hard working crew that arrived early each morning and worked until dusk. We highly recommend Horizon for their quality and value.

We have always been very satisfied with the work done by Horizon Outdoor Landscaping. We have always worked with Mike Cole - he is very friendly and responsive, always listens to our needs, ideas, and budget, and provides helpful feedback and ideas as well. Mike kept us informed of how each project was progressing, and also notified us if there would be a delay due to weather. Additionally, when we've had questions after the project was completed, Mike always responds. All of the projects have been completed in a timely manner - for example, the complete landscaping of the front and sides of our house took just 2 days. Finally, Horizon's estimates have always been reasonable and within the budget we have in mind. We have typically gotten estimates from 2-3 different companies, and Horizon's estimates have always been right in the middle of the group. We have had multiple complements on our landscaping and patio, and most people have commented on how unique the design is. We have also had multiple comments regarding the quality of our retaining wall, and how it compares to other walls that have been built throughout our neighborhood. We will continue to use Horizon Outdoor Design for any projects we plan in the future, and definitely recommend Mike Cole and the entire Horizon team.
