Monarch Roofing is out of business. It is now Alternative Roofing, Inc. and I rated them when they did the work last year (2017).

It went great and the guys were so nice. I previously used this company in 2010 to add aluminum siding on my front porch. I called again but found they had new owners and no longer did siding. I had projects for two homes, both required gutter covers and aluminum coating on the porch roof. One house also needed window shutters replaced and one needed a downspout replaced and porch siding caulked. The old downspout was underground and clogged causing water to backup to the gutter and overflow when it rained. They gave me the cost to dig underground to replace piping or recommended bringing it above ground. I also called Homeserve to see if my insurance covered it and BGE Home to see if they offered a different price with my plumbing Smart plan. No, and no. I went with the above ground downspout replacement. Monarch also removed the cast iron device that held the old downspout in place and covered the hole in cement.

I used Monarch Roofing about 3 years ago and had a great experience with them. But when I called this year, I was told that they now subcontract the roofing jobs and that the subcontractors would get in touch. Three weeks passed without contact and by then I had chosen another roofer. They did persist in trying to make contact but by then it was too late. So this was surprising to me and disappointing that previously great service was lost.

Work was completed in 3 days and the site was kept clean at the end of each day, except for inside the rehab where they did not have access. Large amounts of the existing roof demo material fell through the cracks of the planking that I had to clean, but that was my own fault.

They are responsive and they do good work. They warrant their work, and are prompt to repair work that is under warranty. Prices for the work they do in Dundalk are reasonable. I gave them a 'C' for price because I requested a quote from them for a new roof on my residence, and they came in almost 3 times higher than other quotes. Needless, to say, I didn't use them for me residence, but I will continue to use them for my rental properties.

Had original gutters replaced with copper. Monarch said, orally, that they were guaranteed for life. {I know my mistake-didn't get it in writing} During the recent snow storms (Feb, 2010) two gutter segments were torn from the eaves. Most of the remaining gutters were bent down rendering them useless. No neighbors with standard gutters suffered the same outcome. Called Monarch. They said it was an act of God. Live and learn! Will now be selling the copper for scrap and install aluminum in its place.

Monarch Roofing Co. Inc. keeps trying until they find the solution. This leak was difficult to find, but they kept coming back until the problem was solved. This is a very dependable and responsive company. The men are neat, professional, and courteous. They are careful of my property.

THEY CAME BEFORE SOME BAD WEATHER AND COMPLETED THE JOB IN ONE DAY. THE ONLY THING THAT HAPPENED WAS THAT THEY WERE REMOVING PARTS OFF OUR ROOF AND PUT A HOLE IN THE LINING OF OUR POND. THEY DID COMPENSATE BY LOWERING THE PRICE THEY QUOTED US AT.
