My wife and I engaged Bright Point Builders in June 2021 for a renovation of a 1970â s home in Frederick County Maryland. The house was a time-capsule of that era; we wanted to bring it up to more modern standards and open the rooms for space and livability. The job entailed a whole house renovation which included a replacement of the kitchen, two bathrooms, bedrooms, and the upgrade of a partially finished basement. New electrical work was done in every room of the house. New gas service was run into the house. In addition to normal renovation work, there was an engineering change to the first floor that included the move of the interior stairway to open up the kitchen, dining room, and living room as well as the creation of a new office. As the renovation progressed we decided to also do a full replacement of antiquated baseboard heat to a ducted HVAC system. Mr. Klakamp personally undertook to do the engineering for new duct work and supervised the HVAC company in all facets of the construction and installation. He had the installers return to meet Bright Pointâ s building standards. All work on this renovation was covered by building permits for electrical, gas, plumbing, engineering, and structure. There was never any question by Mr. Klakamp to obtain permits. Every permitted action passed on the first try! Mr. Klakamp was very attentive to our needs and listened carefully from the very first meeting to understand what we wanted. Unlike other builders we interviewed for the project he was thoughtful and took time to review the possibilities and effort that was needed, especially as it related to the major engineering change. He came up with a novel and workable solution to our room opening problem and the placement of the new staircase, and worked with a profession engineer to get the county approval. After all the work was completed, we moved into the home on schedule and within budget in December 2022. We have been more than pleased with all the workmanship that went into this great renovation.
