My summary above gives most of the description, but our house was built in 1949 and had the original Youngstown Mettle cabinets, it was horrible, a lot of wasted space and just an ugly, ugly room! We really wanted to re-engineer the floor-plan, but we knew there was no way to avoid the cost of cabinets. Gary was there from the beginning talking about ways we could add to the exsistign cabinets and repaint them, etc. When we started checking out the Community Forklift we were suprised to find this awesome set of cabinets for SUPER cheep, but as there were 10 of them we did not want to buy them if they could not do what we wanted. Gary came to The Community Forklift on a Sunday to check out the cabinets and make sure they could work for us. He even helped us get them to the house!
It took about 2 months before we could start work with the holidays, but Gary and Crew were patient with us, and were very flexible to make adjustments as the project got underway. They even hauled our old metal cabinets back to The Community Forklift to "pay it forward" for someone looking to do a retro-rehab.
Bottom line is we got a $20,000.00 kitchen for 1/2 the cost by saving on materials, but most importantly having a Contractor who was willing to work with some very unique variables from the client. I do want to note, if you are not as odd as we are and want someone to be "turn key" on the materials assembly side, they can do that to, they are very flexible and I recommend highly!
