They were excellent with the sales process and offered us the best deal. We are happy with the car itself and we would buy from them again.

I don't remember the price. It was a new car. It was less than $20,000. We dealt with several other dealers and we bought the car from them because the overall experience was the best. They were willing to work with us. I go back to them because the responsiveness and attitude of the sales staff towards the customer, a positive attitude towards customer service as opposed to the attitude of at least the other local dealer was more of we're doing you a service by selling you a car.

They make it a point to let you know other things that you need to get done and they give you the prices and all that kind of stuff. I haven’t had anything major done. I do need to get brakes done, but I haven’t gotten it done yet. I usually go every 4 to 6 months. I literally pull a coupon and give it to them because it is included in the pay. They have been excellent throughout my entire experience with them. In fact I am probably going to end up buying another car from them.

The cost was already included in my bill. They’ve serviced my car exclusively. They are easy to make appointments. You just drive up and they have somebody that comes out to your car. The appointment is already set up, they know what they are going to do. They have a great waiting room. They wash your car. It’s just easy to work with them.

I responded to a mailer to trade my 2012 Honda Accord in for a new car. My Accord had been in an accident a year earlier and even though the repairs done to my car were outstanding and I experienced no problems with the car, psychologically, I wasn't pleased with paying a NEW car payment for a car that had been in an accident. So, I went into Honda of Bowie, and zeroed in on the 2014 CRV. Honda of Bowie stayed within my targeted monthly payment, even though the CRV with all leather interior and navigation was slightly higher and there was a balance from my old car. Honda of Bowie respected my desire to stay within my same monthly payment and worked out a deal I was pleased with and a car I truly enjoy. About two weeks later I returned to purchase rubber mats for my car and the salesman gave me a discount and installed the mats and offered tips on keeping them new. I also purchased the paint sealant, which was applied over the course of several hours. I was also given an at-home kit to apply an additional coat as needed. I find the salespeople, servicemen and women at Honda of Bowie to be professional, helpful and reasonably priced. If you stay resolute about the price and terms you wish to purchase your car, I found the salespeople willing to work a favorable deal. It took time but my stubbornness paid off. I live in MD but purchased my first two Hondas from Honda of Fairfax. Now, I take my business to Honda of Bowie, I would recommend this dealership and service provider.

We picked out a car on Sunday in the lot. We checked out the car on the internet on the dealer's web site and found it satisfied our needs. Tuesday we arrived at the dealership, told the salesman, Avion, the car in which we were interested. We took a test drive, liked the car. With not too much negotiation, we agreed upon a deal and came home with the car.

We bought both our 2008 Honda Fit and a used 2007 Civic Hybrid (purchased in 2010) at Honda of Bowie, and up until about a year ago, we were very pleased with their service. I am sorry to say that is no longer the case. I made an appointment in early March 2014 with Honda of Bowie to get the oil changed when the little "wrench light" went on on the Fit's dashboard, indicating an oil change was in order. Let me preface this review by saying that the car has about 98,000 miles on it and it got another oil change about 5,000 miles ago, when the wrench light had alerted me then (this was about 4 or 5 months ago). At that prior oil change, the service technician--looking like a concerned physician about to give a patient bad test results--asked me if I had noticed that my brakes were "pulsing," because their mechanics had noticed that and they would like to work on the brakes. I told them I hadn't noticed anything, but if I did, I would bring the car back in. I never did notice anything over the past 4 or 5 months, and the brakes seem fine. This time, I dropped the car off, and agreed to let them rotate the tires for an additional $39.95, as I usually do. The Fit has never had its tires rotated anyplace except Honda of Bowie. The technician said everything would take about an hour and a half, so I told him I would take a walk while waiting, and get some exercise. I turned my phone off during the walk. When I got back about an hour and 15 minutes later, the technician--looking like a concerned physician about to give a patient bad test results (I guess this is their standard mode when they talk to customers)-- told me that the last time the tires were rotated "someone" had over-tightened the lug nuts and now the bolt broke off and would need to be replaced. He said that would cost me $165.00. Really? What happened to the old saw, "You break it, you buy it." Honda of Bowie -- again, the only place where the Fit's tires have ever been changed, so obviously the "someone" who overtightened the lug nuts last time is a Honda of Bowie employee -- should have offered to replace the bolt for free. Also, the technician said, my car needed new spark plugs. I don't know much about cars, but I do know that spark plugs at Advance Auto Parts cost about $10 (ten dollars) apiece. "And how much would that be?" I asked. "Two hundred and fifty dollars," he replied, with a straight face. I don't know what Honda of Bowie's hourly labor rate is, but I guess it must be on a level with what millionaires' tax lawyers charge. Also, he said, "You need two new tires." I was waiting for him to tell me that the car's pulsing brakes needed to be worked on, since that was such an urgent item at the last oil change, but apparently the brakes magically healed themselves between this visit to Honda of Bowie and the prior visit a few months back. He didn't say one word about the brakes. Imagine that. I told him not to do anything more to the car. I said I needed to get to work (which I did) and I would look at the car myself later. I waited 5 minutes, went to the cashier and asked to pay. She said the technician hadn't sent the paperwork back yet. I told her I needed to leave, and she asked me if I remembered my technician's name. I did remember it, she paged him, and he came back with the paperwork, still trying to get me to get the other work done. I told him I needed to get to work and I was leaving. Since this last service call, I have received an email from the manager of the dealership saying that I should call him if there is anything I would like to talk about. I also got a call from Honda of Bowie at my place of work asking me if I was happy with the last service. I told him "No" and I explained (as I have here) why. I have not received any offers from Honda of Bowie to replace for free the bolt they broke. I told the Honda of Bowie employee that in the future I was planning to take my business elsewhere. One more thing: when I went to Honda of Bowie the time prior to this most recent visit, a salesman from the dealership sidled over to me while I was sitting in the waiting area waiting for my car and asked if I wanted to sell it. (Used Fits are very hot items right now, I hear). I said, "No, I don't want to sell it. I want to get the oil changed so I can continue to drive it." Listen folks (I thought to myself), if I want to sell my car, I'll let you know. Also, my husband and I have both -- over the last several months -- gotten phone calls from these sfolks asking us if we want to sell the Civic Hybrid. We told them "No." I am very sorry that a dealership that had done such good work for years, no longer is doing what I define as good work. I now understand why the ancient Greek statesman Diogenes the Cynic was known to walk through the streets of Athens carrying a lamp in broad daylight, saying he was still searching for an honest man.

Everything was fine. They were ready for me at the appointment time. They performed the scheduled maintenance and went over what they had done, and they washed the car. The whole process was done quickly while I waited their lounge.

It was found that I needed a valve in my VTEC engine cleaned as well as a transmission mount replaced. I was quoted as having to pay $350 per repair. I asked if they could get the total cost under $700 ... and the total came to $671.
Everyone there is professional, courteous, etc. But it's a dealer, so ... I guess it's not surprising to bring your car to a dealer and two hours later, get a bill for $671.

A co-worker recommended the salesperson Richard Bledsoe. We really appreciated his low pressure approach. He let us take the car out and test drive without being too pushy, but he was also available to answer our questions. Because I did thorough research on Consumer Reports and Edmunds, I was able to bargain the price down by $1000 and get the exact color, features I wanted. Mr. Bledsoe was very pleasant to deal with, and I would highly recommend him.
