EDDIE CONSTRUCTION

I feels like an entirely new home!!  Everything went very smoothly, especially considering the dust, dirt, and disruption.  Eddie provided a lot of useful advice about what kind of materials should be used and why.  The cost of everything was carefully described.  We paid for the remodelling in stages over time:  work began in early December 2011 and was completed on April 19, 2012.  The pace of work did not bother us at all.  Eddie and his principal helper are both extremely hard-working.  Their work was absoutely first-rate: difficult considering how old the house is.Please note: Eddie has recently renamed his business:  it is now called "EDDIE CONSTRUCTION."

He was on time, and the finished product was fine. The slate slabs that he put down for my back yard were wobbly. He tried to give me the run around with that. I ended up canceling the check, and he came back out to fix the problem.

Everything went remarkably smoothly. There was far more construction debris removed than we expected, but the chaos was kept to a minimum so as not to disturb upstairs tenants. Ilir was great at trouble-shooting problems, working with other contractors and delivery repairmen, helping find the right fixtures and other products, and keeping us advised of progress. The project went more quickly than we feared, given its scope, and he has been willing to return to do additional projects as requested. He is very flexible, and his prices are the best we've found. And his work is superb - as we have found over the course of seven years of working with him in prior houses. We could never have emerged sane from this project without him!

Ilir has tackled multiple projects for us during the past 7 years, and this one was no different: his work is exceptional, he is flexible in completing the job and willing to adapt as we add more projects and modify the primary one. We appreciate his trustworthiness and his great rapport with everyone, and it is no exaggeration to admit that we simply could not manage this old house without his superb workmanship and willingness to tackle any challenge. His past projects include repointing the brick wall and other masonry, painting, installing ceiling fans, and completely renovating the bathroom. Friends we've recommended him to are even more enthusiastic!

We're putting our house on the market, and the open house was Sunday. I called Eddie on Thursday, asking if he could "pull a miracle" and get the scraping and painting done on Friday (the next day). He said he'd try. When Eddie says he'll try, it means it'll be done. Sure enough, the paint was dry by 2 p.m on Friday - an agent showed our house at 2:30 that day. The job looks fine, and Eddie was able to do it quickly.

Ilir was a pleasure to work with throughout. He gave careful thought to the problem (which several companies told us was somewhat tricky), and he worked diligently to solve the problem. He was unusually conscientious and responsive. He returned calls quickly, came when he said he would come, called before coming etc...

All the work was very professional. While some people giving estimates said they couldn't replace porch boards with ''tongue and groove'', Mr. Rexhbei was able to. Plants in the front garden were not disturbed. The new back porch stair rails looked much better than I expected, considering I did not want to spend a lot of money. I couldn't imagine them looking better. I also asked for inexpensive garage doors, but he was still able to add a little molding so it was reasonably attractive. Although the garage was off-kilter, he managed to cut the doors at a slight angle so the tilt of the garage would not be noticeable, and the garage doors would still close. When I came home, I discovered that one of the doors could not open all the way (the old iron ones did). He came back the same evening, and we agreed for him to re-lay the concrete (which required moving the fence). Although this added to the cost, the overall look was better.
