(Continued from above) Only Lewis suggested replacing the entire frame, which increased the window opening by more than 10%. That did wonders to the basement and improved every upstairs room as well. Lewis also suggested simple windows without fancy brass hardware, and that suits our home well. He undercut another vendor's wood proposal by $1,000 (and that other vendor was going to re-use the old frames). We continue to use this contractor.
