Excellent advice and service for a fair price. They give very personalized advice and work, they are professional and personable. In addition, Bowie Shell is a good corporate citizen in the Bowie community. The station is kept up to date and always clean, with well-manicured and attractive landscaping.

He quoted me the highest price he could and indicated the cost of a flywheel would be part of the service. Flywheel replacement is excessive for a fists clutch replacement, particularly sight unseen. I had the vehicle towed to another shop to conduct the repair and paid $400.00 less than what was quoted here. He charged me over $100.00 to "inspect" my vehicle and did nothing at all.

I use Bowie Shell and I can recommend them highly, very highly.  I grew up with a family of mechanics and in the past mechanics have tried to get things past me and Bowie does none of that.  I have two cars and take them there for work.  I buy all my gas there because I think they deserve my business but  there mechanical staff is excellent, there friendly A number 1.  I get the synthetic oil.

The problem was hard to trace, and Carl kept us informed.  The problem stemmed from the throttle box and kept tripping the service engine light.  Replace the throttle box.  Subsequent return was not charged.
We ended up at the Saturn dealer and it turns out the problem stemmed from the proximity of the wiring harness to other electronic parts, causing magnetic interference.  The dealer knew of this problem from working with a similar problem at another dealership.  Ultimately the dealer ran a new harness, disconnected the old harness but left it in place to keep some space so the magnetic interference wouild not occur.
The dealer said they would have followed the same protocol as Bowie Shell.  I had taken the car to the dealer to repair a recall issue.

Everything had been good. I did not have problems with them. At one point they helped me saved money by suggesting to buy some parts online which was cheaper. I appreciated that.

I was having issues with my car not starting, and Bowie Shell was able to get my car in and out in the same day. Most shops would not have been able to do that! They were very quick with diagnosing the problem and replacing the battery. They even gave me a print copy of the electrical diagnostic, which I appreciated. Carl, the service manager was extremely nice and helpful.

I sing your praises all the time. Extraordinarily superb service as always. Car sold from their lot in 1 week. No other advertising done.

When I called, they were able to schedule my appointment for that same day and really went out of their way to get my inspection completed. Tommy and Rusty were great to work with and I highly recommend checking them out if you are looking for a fair price and honest MD vehicle inspection. Plus, they were able to get the minor item identified in the inspection (Hood Shocks replacement) repaired while I waited, eliminating a return trip to the shop.

Excellent service, very personable and able to talk to. Very honest also, did not push additional repairs. He completed a repair I could not complete (part was completely rusted in place), with parts I bought. However, one short coming was he told me he would call me and provide update as to how long it would take. The only updates I got were when I called and when it was done.

Made appointment for them to look at it. They got to it fairly quickly while I waited. Did a very good job of finding the defects and giving me a detailed evaluation of the car's condition. Also told me about their experiences with that model, which was helpful. Giving them a "B" for price not because I think I was overcharged for the inspection, but because they told me that they overall tend to charge more for repairs that some other places, since they do a better job. I can't judge that, but I can say that the inspection appeared thorough and I was satisfied with it.

These guys went over and beyond the call of duty. Car would stall and sputter and we had just had it "repaired" at another shop...found "Bowie Shell" on Angie's List so we gave them a shot. There was a problem with the PCM (computer) that was installed by the previous mechanic. Bowie Shell could have just said, "your PCM needs replacing, this is what it will cost"..but instead they took the time to discuss the matter with the previous mechanic, then contacted the manufacturer of the PCM who sent another one (which, likewise, was bad) and ultimately scoured the market for one that worked. Also, they did LOTS of work that I KNOW was unbilled...they empathized with my predicament and explained ALL the options and estimates, spending much time with me to make sure I understood what their assessment is. Totally impressed.

Bowie Shell did numerous repairs, wiring, EGR circuit, valve and hose, rewiring and EGR control solenoid, carburetor and intake manifold. Not only did they repair the car, but they took it over to the Emissions Center and it passed with flying colors.

I have used them in the past and they charge a fair price. I had no appointment as I just drove in and they did the job in one day. I have had no problems and I will use them again.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SHELL STATION IS ALWAYS GREAT. THEY PROVIDE EXCELLENT SERVICE AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. I HAVE REQUESTED VARIOUS INSPECTIONS OF DIFFERENT PARTS AND THEY HAVE COME BACK AND SAID THAT NO WORK WAS NEEDED AT THIS TIME. THEY COULD HAVE JUST PERFORMED THE WORK AND CHARGED ME AND I WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN THE DIFFERENCE.
