"Good morning - thank you for your feedback. Let's address these individually. Yes, the Angie's list coupon you purchased included cleaning, which you received. Because the unit hadn't been maintained in a very long time (evident by dirt on coil), we also had to do a chemical cleaning. That was the $126 that you were charged. Those chemicals are very expensive and are not included in the coupon. The chemicals we use also reduce the amount of time that cleaning without them would require. We explained the need for the chemical cleaning at the time of service (please note the fine print on the coupon for additional fees and scope of work) on Angie's List. The blower motor/capacitor 1st and 2nd visit: Because the unit hadn't been maintained (evident by dirty coil) we don't know how long the capacitor was under performing. If the capacitor was drawing amperage from the blower motor for a long period of time causing the motor to speed up and overheat, it would wear down the bearings and seize the motor up. Sometimes the capacitor and motor fail at the same time. Sometimes they fail within days of each other. Sometimes they fail within a few months of each other. (That isn't something we can know - believe me it would be great if we could) At our first appointment, we changed out the capacitor and we checked the motor. The motor was running properly at that time and you had heat when we left the premises. The bearings were not seizing up. If they had been at that time, we would have recommended that the motor be replaced. Some companies automatically replace the motor at the same time. We do not. We leave that decision up to you, the customer. Why spend the $500+ at that time if it isn't necessary.....? It could be months before the motor fails. We also offered you a complete credit for those charges against purchasing a new unit. Thank you from the Air Doctor Team."

"Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review for us. We appreciate it and look forward to helping you in the future. Doing seasonal maintenance is always a good idea. It helps you with longevity for the system and these units are an important part of your home's value. It's kind of like buying a new car - if you don't change the oil, you're going to have a lot of problems. Same thing with the HVAC system. If you don't change the filter regularly or keep up on maintenance, you can experience those times when the system breaks in the middle of a hot day or a cold, winter night. Being proactive on the seasonal maintenance is a good way to make sure that doesn't happen and a good policy to have. If you have any questions or need further help, give us a call or send an email to our service department. Thanks again! We appreciate it."
