Very happy with the service provided.  Alton (owner) was exceptionally prompt on all aspects and knocked out the entire job within just a few days.  He graciously complied with all requests, even the one's where we changed our mind halfway through on minor design.  While he was wating for other parts of the patio to finish, he noticed some repair needed on front porch steps and took care of them without even being asked (or charged- and it now looks great). Could not ask for better service or professionalism.  He's got a very good team that helped him throughout. Would recommend him to anyone looking for concrete work.

Very prompt in meeting appointments. Asking for a kiss at the end of the job is why I wont use this company again.

Mr. Strickland arrived promptly to provide estimate, which I thought was fair. He scheduled a time to perform the repairs and arrived with his crew on time and work was complete without incident. He explained what he was doing and how it would be done. The concrete truck arrived a day after it was supposed to and when it did arrive it was late in the afternoon.

They bricked my front steps. They totally ripped and repaired my side walk. They were very prompt, courteous, and professional. The work they did was exceptional. The gentleman was almost 70 years old and he has been doing this work for about 40 years.

From the very beginning, it was clear to me that the company owner, Alton Strickland, knew a lot about masonry and concrete. His impressive portfolio of photographs of his past jobs reflected a level of expertise you would expect to find in a masonry manual at a bookstore, library, or home improvement store. When I called to schedule an initial visit, I only reached his answering service but he called back within a day. He showed up on time and very quickly scoped out the job in his head. He assessed the crumbling and cracked patio and walkway and measured the size for a concrete replacement patio & driveway. For many years we've had driveway sized gates leading from our yard to the adjacent alley but never installed a formal driveway. At $12 per square foot (which included all aspects of the job--breaking up and removing the old concrete, excavating a significant portion of the yard for the new patio/driveway, etc.), Strickland's price was on the high end of the scale, but for his level of skill and experience I thought it he was worth every penny. I called other companies and could not get calls back or received vague pricing quotes. Strickland was clear and upfront about his pricing. When I mentioned that I learned about him from Angie's List, he calculated an immediate 10% discount. After receiving his quote, I felt there may have been room for negotiating a lower price but I researched pricing scales on the internet and discovered that other professionals of his caliber charged rates similar to Mr. Strickland's, though some charged cheaper rates. We decided that quality, experience, and keeping legal local talent working were much more important than the lowest price, so we went with Strickland. We selected concrete companies in the past based on lower bids and lived to regret it. Concrete mistakes are not easy to fix and it's the type of work that requires lots of knowledge and experience. Cracks and defective concrete surfaces can be patched and coated but will never look as well as a job done right in the first place. Strickland's work was done exactly to specifications, on schedule and it looks beautiful. The concrete patio/driveway was completed over a 3-day period (about 10-days ago) and is curing well. Mr. Strickland even called back a few days after the job to advise us on how to cool the concrete down during an ongoing heatwave. He is a masonry artisan of the highest order, who is passionate about his work and who takes pride in every job. He took special interest in making sure that the patio section of our slab was more smoothly finished. He also made sure that the entire job was properly graded. Based on my experience, I recommend him highly for working on concrete driveway, patio, and related concrete jobs. I would definitely use him again for concrete work and would consider him for any masonry project.

Mr. Strickland and his team were very punctual. He has been doing this type of work for over 50 years and is a master craftsman. His attention to detail was superb. I highly recommend Alton for any concrete work you have.

Mr. Strickland impressed me as skilled in doing cement work. He was also conscientious and honest in working with me. So far, no rain water is coming into the basement.

I had a cement work done on the stairs, porch and the driveway and they finished the work on 1st of May. They were very good.

I found him to be excellent. He was completely responsible. When he said he was going to be there, he was there. We hit a cold snap of weather, which made it difficult because you really can't pour concrete very well if it is below freezing. So he had short work days in the middle of the day, but I think he made the most of them. He made some design decisions that were very helpful. He came up with a very interesting solution to the problem with the slope. I found that he was very communicative. He cleaned up really well and kept the site really clean which I appreciated. I would go back to him to have more work done. I have also referred him to friends of mine. He did a great job.

Mr. Strickland is absolutely wonderful. His review of the job was professional and detailed. He did the work himself and was wonderful to work with. The quality of his work is excellent and he went above and beyond the call of duty, even pressure washing the patio, laying new blue chip on the patio, pressure washing the patio furniture and refinishing it. He was careful around the landscaping while he was repointing and when the job was finished he seeded, mulched and landscaped. He is the greatest!

Mr. Strickland performed the work in a timely and cost-effective manner. We would definitely use hime for work in the future. He keeps an odd schedule so there were times we would look out our window and see him at 7:30am but other than that, he was great!

Excellent work, done on time and with real craftmanship and pride in work.
