I hired Sam Chmar and his company to replace my roof. His estimate was one of the most expensive out of all but I decided to go with his company because he was very personable. However, once I hired him it became very obvious that Sam was a wolf in sheeps clothing. Not only was I already paying a six figure amount to replace the roof but they did an incomplete and shoddy and shoddy job on my roof! He also tried to change me an extra $1100 for a temporary fix on the roof until they could come out next week, then he wanted to charge me 12 plywood when they only used 5, last but not least he wanted me to install 2 attic fans at a cost of $375 each. Any honest roofer would know that if you have a ridge vent that you do not need attic fans. Sam is very dishonest and tries to scam you at every turn. He gets high marks on the other review website because he denies all bad reviews and the company will make you go through hoops to place your bad review. My advice is buyer beware!

My name is Same Chmar and I am the contractor that Mrs [Member Name Removed] is speaking about. There is no doubt that we ended up on bad terms and I am sure that anyone reading this knows there is always two sides of the story. She paid $11,000. for her roof, not six figures. I did accidently charge her for 12 sheets of plywood and I admitted my error right away. I pay $20 for a sheet of plywood and pay my guys $25 to install each sheet. There is $5 left over. I have pictures of the one fan and all the plywood that we installed which don't match her numbers at all. I took out the old fan and replaced the hole where the fan was with new plywood since we put in a ridge vent. She then asked my guys to put a new fan in so they did. As for the other websites she is talking about, I have only had one bad review and that is this lady's. I submitted all my pictures and my contract and Home Advisor did their due diligence and took her bad review down. I asked Angies List to do the same and they would not even look into it. It is a shame that people can write anything they want with no worries of getting in trouble. . In the end she has a nice roof on her rental property I got paid most of the money owed. We have both said our piece so I hope we can move on and stop wasting ours and anyone else's time. Sam Chmar Owner

It went excellent. I was happy with the timing of it and they were able to work around my schedule. Their price was competitive and good. The owner was accessible and happy to answer any questions I had.
