GLEN ECHO HARDWARE

I've always gone out of my way to use this hardware store, since they have good merchandise and knowledgeable people. They're not in your face, but are eager to help if you ask or look like you want it. The last time I was in there, I asked for a flush cut saw. When the girl I asked didn't know what I was talking about, the man next to her took her (and me) to the product, explained it, and showed us both all of the options. That's real on-the-job training for their staff, which was great to see. I also got great advice from their paint desk about painting my kitchen cabinets. I followed their advice, and got a good, durable, beautiful finish that I would describe as "buttery". It's awesome. This place is also the only source I know of in Maryland for Fine Paints of Europe products (though there is a source over the line in DC as well).

Glen Echo Hardware is a one of a kind hardware store. All of the employees are eager to help find items and help solve home repair problems. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They are friendly and always greet you with a smile. From tools to paint to plumbing and outdoor supplies, they carry it all. Just a great place to shop.
