Feb 2007
The main problem with The Frame Shop is price. I agreed to the purchase only after spending a half hour in the store making moulding selections. When they told me the price, I didn't feel I could back out (although I should have just taken my art and walked out the door). The charge for the moulding alone on the 20x24 was a whopping $188.92. The charge for the moulding alone on the 14x18 was $134.32. I was later able to find the second one on the Internet for $24.00. I told the owner of Frame World that I thought the price was too high. He told me I should have told him that before the order was placed. Next problem was quality. The second piece involved three note card size pieces to be inserted in a single mat. The work was delivered with conspicuously ragged edges on each of the cuts (e.g. where the beveled edge meets the artwork). The owner agreed to re-do the mat. However, this was inconvenient and annoying for me.
