My bag (an Eileen Fisher tote) had lining that was completely shredded, and the leather was beaten up. They designed and sewed and installed a new lining, and it's perfect! They also made the rather beat-up leather of my bag look great, and they did all of this in under two weeks. ($150)
My boots (tall black Frye boots) needed a lot of heel rebuilt, had a leather flap that needed to be sewn down, and were in serious need of polish. They came back looking great: the heels looked new, the flap looked as f it had never been damaged, and they were clean and shiny. ($50)

I went there more often when I worked in Bethesda. They are expensive but well worth it. They are 45' away but I am going there this week to have a shoe repaired and riding boots cleaned.

The retractable luggage handle stopped retracting and needed to get fixed. The first two repair shops, which I found here on Angie's List, basically said I would have to replace the whole handle unit and that it would cost at least $55 or so. When I brought it in to Fortuna, the man was extremely knowledgeable and the cost was right. Most importantly, I felt confident in Fortuna's ability to fix my suitcase. I didn't feel that way with the two previous shops I contacted.
These days, I find that good customer service is high on my list when I seek out shops and services. Fortuna's was stellar and I would highly recommend them.

They were quite good, but they were a little bit expensive. I should have paid attention while they were quoting me about the prices. It's probably more of my fault than anything else and I should have asked more questions before saying yes. I think they did a little bit more than what I had realized and I ended up paying a little more than I thought I should have. It was done very nicely. It was quality work, but it was just a little high. It was more than what those shoes deserved or needed because they were old shoes and I just like them. They were on time in terms of getting it fixed. Their quality, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism were all good. I would definitely use them again in the future if need be.

The repair took one week and all work was ready when promised.

We dropped off the shoes, explained what we needed and they performed the service well and on time.

They were able to provide a estimate over the phone. When I asked them about shoe care they were a wealth of information, very helpful, and very courteous. The reason I gave a B for punctuality was because I came around noon they day they said it'd be ready and it wasn't yet ready. They said they'd get it done by the afternoon. The boots look great.

He is very good and does work that I have not found to be available elsewhere. The purse looks brand new and he does a nice job.

That type of personal attention on the spot and the offer to try the least costly solution first won us over. I would bring any leather goods to them for repair now.

I took the boots to Fortuna. They were not sure what was causing the problem, but they said they would try to fix it, and they did, for a very inexpensive price. I would have been willing to pay a lot more to get the problem solved. I don't know what they did, but it worked. It has been several months now, and I wondered if the problem would return, but it has not. The staff was very pleasant, professional and educational.

The salesperson who gave me the estimate was professional and explained my options/pricing clearly. The work was completed on time and the shoes all look great. Street parking was relatively easy to come by (metered parking is available right outside the store) and they are open on Saturdays. They were a bit pricey, but the level of service was worth it and I would definitely return.

They did a wonderful job. I asked for a sole a little thicker than what I had, and they were able to do it. They were very friendly. I thought the price was reasonable, considering the boots originally would cost about $200.00 to replace.
