Bethesda Systems

We had a great experience with Bethesda Systems. Jay came out to our house shortly after we requested a quote, asked what we were looking for, thoroughly investigated how to install what we needed, and then provided a detailed quote that gave us options of what speakers we could choose from and where to install them. The quote covered three areas and we ultimately chose just to install outdoor speakers. The actual installation process was done professionally and expertly with minimal hassle for us, but with a complete explanation of how to use Sonos. All in all, we are very happy customers and would use Bethesda Systems again.

Great work, very responsive, professional, attention to detail, work was done according to my expectation, they thought of everything and it was a nice experience working with them.

Bethesda Systems does a good job of following up and letting you know when a tech will visit your home. Both techs dispatched to my home were super knowledgeable and efficient. I've been so pleased with Bethesda Systems that I just reached out to the company for a quote on automated shades.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and the service seemed pretty good. It took a little while for them to come out. We had gone back and forth in the scheduling. They had a scheduler that had something up with her and her scheduling. Eventually I think she left them so it took a good while for us to find a mutually convenient date. I was annoyed with them because they did not show up once so I think they gave me a deal. They seemed like they knew what they were talking about and they seemed legit. I liked their quality.

Inviting a mobile LED lighting expert to my home was not a service I sought out, but
when I saw it on Angie?s List, I decided to buy it. I needed new lights anyway,
so for the $59 deal I bought, I got my money?s worth with two LED floodlights.
The technician was very knowledgeable and answered my questions (I?m sure most
folks have a lot to learn about LEDs, so they get this a lot). Very nice guy,
and he spent a good few hours with us on a Saturday. He educated us about the
benefits (obviously the low energy and very long lifespan of LEDs is a plus,
but the color options and uses for focused or diffuse light were very cool). I
made his trip worthwhile, since we ended up buy an additional $200 or so in
other lights (he cut us a slight deal on some small candelabra lights). My only
caution, LED lights are expensive, and his options seemed particularly so. You can
get much cheaper LED bulbs at Home Depot, etc, but he told us that those lights
may not be as reliable for quality (there is some rating system, that I admit I
didn?t understand). Also, he?s got quite a few options, so it was nice to try
them out in my house and see how they looked. So whether I was getting a deal
overall, I don?t really know?but it will be years before I have to worry about
new lighting.

The product was mostly okay, aside from one minor issue. The follow-up and customer service after the fact left something to be desired. After repeated attempts, I was able to get nowhere. Also, the salesman was quite pushy.

The gentleman showed up on time and I spoke to him about modernizing the lighting in our home.  The deal I had included some lighting at a reduced price.  He showed me all the options and I picked the lights we wanted.  So far, the lights are great and I do plan to use Bethesda Systems again for some other upgrades.
He went out of his way to come back later in the day because he didn't have a particular light.  He installed the lights as part of the promotion.  I was able to use my credit card to pay for extra services I requested (during the visit) which included installing some ceiling lights.

Gino replaced the socket on my range hood vent, which really was not part of the Angie's List deal.  This is my second Bethesda Systems LED Diet deal -- I provided more details on my review of the first deal that I bought.  I am very pleased with the work I got from Gino and Bethesda Systems, and I highly recommend them.  I would eventually like to replace every light in my house with an LED, but right now they are a little too expensive, they don't do well in enclosed fixtures because they generate a bit of heat, and I have at least 4 enclosed fixtures in my house.  I highly recommend this Angie's List deal to anyone who has fluorescent fixtures that are on for many hours during the day.  Right now, you can't buy fixtures that take the 4 foot tubes that are already wired for LEDs.  You have to bypass the starter and the ballast, which are needed for fluorescent tubes, but not for LEDs.  Gino did this in no time at all.  The LED replacements are brighter than the tubes they replaced, use 1/3 the electricity, last longer, and don't contain mercury.

It went well!  He did the work fast.  The LED replacements are brighter than the fluorescent tubes that they replaced, should use 1/3 the electricity, and last a lot longer.  They don't contain mercury.  He took a look at my range vent hood, and said he could fix it for me.  This was really above and beyond the LED Diet Angie's List deal that I had ordered. 
Gino discussed LEDs with me.  I eventually would like to replace every light in my house with an LED.  I found out that the 100 watt equivalents are heavy, and that LEDs are not good for enclosed fixtures because they generate heat.
The category listed is wrong.  I found the deal under Lighting, and that was the service that was performed.

Bethesda Systems did a great job installing two Nest thermostats for me.  When one of the two devices developed a problem with inaccurate and rapidly fluctuating temperature readings, Bethesda got to me the same day and replaced it.  The only challenge I had was reaching Nest itself by phone to chat with them about the problem (before I called Bethesda Systems back about replacing it.)  I guess Nest is way backed up with calls and it is apparently not unusual to wait 45 minutes or more for their phone support.  But Bethesda Systems took care of me right away -- very good service.

Great guy, no hard sell. Really professional and checked a fault in our electric while he was there. The Nest seems like a really cool system and this company say they will come out and fix if there are any issues.

We recently moved and hired Bethesda Systems to outfit our home with an audio/visual network, lighting and remote control blinds.  We were impressed from the onset with the professionalism of the team that came out to give us an estimate and equally impressed with the speed in which we received our proposal.  Bethesda Systems took care of canceling our old services (including returning our old equipment) and starting fresh in our new home.  They met every deadline that was promised.  We had several different contractors in our home during the month of June and we can say, unequivocally, that the Bethesda Systems team was the most professional and most respectful of our home.  They never entered our house without covering their shoes and never left our house without making sure that every single thing that they may have touched was exactly in place.  The staff hired by Bethesda Systems is not only smart and knowledgable, but they are kind and helpful.  We would recommend Bethesda Systems whole heartedly and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them in the future.

Love this company! Due to a mix-up John & Geno had to come to our place 2 times. They quickly contacted other customers and made arrangements to fit our schedule. Once they arrived the second time they put on protective footwear and walked through the house making notes on how various areas were used and possible lighting needs. They explained the differences and similarities of the various types of bulbs and fixtures and willingly showed how different bulbs provided different amounts of light and colors in our rooms. John and Geno also took away all of the old bulbs and recycled them for us. When it was discovered there were not enough bulbs for one of our fixtures John came by the very next morning with all the bulbs, making that 3 visits in 3 days. The service is excellent and I will be calling them to replace bulbs as I gradually transition from incandescent & fluorescent lights to LED lights.
Added bonus - due to the long-lasting bulbs, the manufacturers' warranties and the personal service, I freed up half a shelf that used to hold extra light bulbs!
