"Work was not performed by our company at this residence."
"The member originally contacted us on 10/1/10 with water leaking into her finished attic. We initially tried to come out on 10/2/10 to perform a temporary fix and the member was going to be out of town. We returned on 10/5/10 when the member was back in town and performed the temporary fix. The member was originally told that we were working on a backlog of work from the February Blizzard of 2010 and that we were still seeing current customers from that storm and trying to get caught up on pending jobs. Unfortunately as with a lot of homes that are over 100 years old finding the full cause of leaks is not cut and dry as there are usually layers and years of work, updates and aging that have caused damaged to the structure. Our initial temporary fix did not stop all of the leaks and a return visit was required and another temporary fix was completed. The member was notified that due to the existing roof condition our recommendation would be to replace the damaged areas and that we would come back to give an estimate for doing this work. An estimate was completed and sent in January of 2011. With the temporary holding we recommended waiting for warmer weather as to not cause further damage to the roof by working on it in cold weather that tends to make roofing material brittle and susceptible to cracking and damage. Just like we promptly reacted to the member's roof leak we had other customers with the same situation that needed attention and with her temporary repair holding we had to prioritize the immediate response to be in line with our current job load. As is our custom we hold off on sending our bill until we feel that the job has been addressed to the fullest and with this case we were still planning on returning and giving a full estimate to fully fix her issues. We apologize that we did not send a bill in satisfactory time and had one been requested via a phone conversation for current work, one would have been supplied. Our company has been in business since 1952 and we stand behind all of our work and have a high level of customer satisfaction. The storms of 2010 pushed us into an abnormal and intense workload that we have not seen in the 50 plus years we have been in business. We have endeavored to insure that customers were seen in a timely fashion without a compromise in quality."
