"Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to review our company. It was truly a pleasure to work with you. We pride ourself on customer service and appreciate your business. Sincerely, The staff of Bethesda Chevy Chase Painting Co."
The company was eager to get the paint off of her new sofa and they were eager to make it right. They handled the situation really well.
"Thank you for recommending our company and taking the time to write a review. During this very busy season we truly appreciate your comments."
He was supposed to come back two weeks later, but we changed it to the following week, for which he was thrilled. The following Monday he showed up with a young kid, and the two of them primed (they were using water-based paint over oil-based) and painted for two days. The job was not up to par - paint drips, primer showing through the paint, and uneven areas. The bathroom was being remodeled, so it was totally stripped (no sink, toilet, etc.). One would think this would have made the job easier. They didn't even lift the exhaust fan to paint underneath, and neglected to paint the above the door. Also, despite using drop cloths, they left paint splatters all over my brand new floor. It was like a Friday night rush job, yet they finished on a Tuesday. I called to complain the next day. They offered to come back out to repair the damage, but at that point I was had my contractors in the house. My contractors fixed the damage, but I ended up paying an extra $400 for what was an overpriced job in the first place. I was told that the owner was out of town on vacation but would hear about what happened. Well, if he did, I wouldn't know, because I never heard from him. I would never allow this company to work in my house again.
"The day John (the owners son) returned from vacation the office contacted the member to schedule him to come out to the members home to address her concerns. Previously the member had denied our request to please allow the painters to return and attend to her issues that she had brought to our attention. I might add, I'm sure it was a very challenging time for the member with other contractors involved in her project at the same time, so she chose not to have us return. She did however allow John to meet with her and John agreed there were some areas that lacked the attention to detail which we pride ourselves on. A seam in the new drywall should have been sanded better, a few brush marks on a wall as well as a couple of paint drip marks. John also noted he would be happy to apply another coat of paint to the wall in order to perfect it. The member chose to have another contractor, who was working in the home to care of it. I might add the paint drip on the new floor was easily removed leaving the floor in prestine condition and the above mentioned dust is often difficult to avoid when installing new drywall considering the amount of sanding required. The forman on the job has been with our company for over 20 years and is a professional painter along with his apprentice. As I previosly mentioned I believe it was a stressful situation for the member all around. We have done two previous jobs for the homeowner and she has always been a pleasure to work with. Our hope is the member will reconsider our services in the futurre."
"Reviewing Angie's list reports we were quite surprised to learn of the members dissatisfaction. We routinly call our customers 2 days after the job is complete to insure their satisfaction and respond immediatly if they have any questions or concerns. Dec.8, 2010 during our call the member indicated that everything was "great", the painters were very professional and patient with her change of colors, ect. The member went on to say they would be calling us in the future for exterior painting. We encourage communication from our customers and strive to meet their expectations. We look forward to addressing the members concerns and taking care of the paint drips and the areas of drywall they feel need additional attention."
