1 Services - Air Medics

This was the Angie's List advertised special for air duct cleaning . They were prompt and professional and cleaned up very well after themselves. They started to clean the vents but then stopped and told me I had mold in the ducts that needed treatment. They showed me the black "mold" in the main vent. To give them their due, they did say I could  leave it and get a second opinion or have someone else treat the mold and then would come back and do the cleaning. However, at the mention of mold I think most people would be concerned as I was so I agreed to the treatment. This skyrocketed the total cost from $129 to $1004. They told me they would come back every 6 months for the next 5 years to check on the situation - we'll see if they do and what transpires.

THEN a couple of weeks later I read on Angie's List that companies will tell you this and that you should get a mold specialist in to confirm it is necessary. The advice came a bit late! It would have been nice to have had this information when Angie's List put the deal on their site. Bottom line is I'm not sure I really did need the mold treatment. A friend of mine had exactly the same experience with another company which makes me a bit suspicious that this is a money making ploy. Angie's List customers, be aware of this.

Sales rep (Jason) was very professional. He was the only "honest" estimate we received. They were very thorough and did a great job. Very tidy on the clean up.
