My car broke down on Saturday mid-morning.  I called Racetrack and they towed it to their shop, evaluated it and gave me an estimate, even though they were about to close for the weekend.  They were very courteous and apologized that the car wouldn't be ready until Monday because they had to order parts for it.  The car was repaired on Monday as promised.

Just prior to heading to OC for vacation June 28 thru July 5, from Sykesville, (west of Baltimore) I needed a brakeline replaced in my Expedition. Easily made the drive from home to OC, and through the week I did little driving. However at the end of the week during nighttime, I had a power steering hose explosion. Racetrack Auto and Marine showed up late eveining 7/3/2014 towed my 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer edition to their Marine and Auto location directly on Ocean Gateway (Rt 50) in Berlin. They quickly evaluated and called me mid-morning next day with the estimate and recommendations. My PS hose ruptured, sprayed the entire reservoir's worth of fluid all over the engine compartment, soaked my serpentine belt as well as all pullys and engine components. Luckily it ruptured right as I was getting to my rental unit's parking spot so I was able to soak up the majority of the mess in the parking lot. Thankfully this did not happen on the ride down to OC or on the Bay Bridge, or in the middle of Coastal Highway. So they did the work right away, completed everything so we could return home ontime.
Racetrack Marine and Auto needed to replace the Serpentine Belt (soaked with PS fluid) and the low-pressure PS fluid hose (the return hose ruptured, not the hose feeding the pump). I looked at the removed parts, and it turns out the PS hose was probably pushed out of the way when a prior auto service company was wokring on the brake line replacement and not returned to its normal spot causing the rubber hose to rub against the PS Pump pully, and rub completely thru to the point of rupture.

Racetrack removed the Serpentine Belt and removed the PS Fluid Return Hose, cleaned all the engine compartment components that they could, cleaned all the pullies, replaced the belt and used a high-pressure rubber hose as the return hose replacement, as opposed to the dealer's and quot;aluminum on both endsand quot; hose. Very effective and highly appreciated recommendaiton since this is a low pressure hose and doesnpt really need the metal reinforcement. As a very professional final touch, they zip-tied the hose to engine supports so it won't rub against anything.
