This company did a great job. The job proposal was set for two days but the work was complete in one. The crew was very professional and kept me informed through the entire process. This is a trustworthy company. Hind was fabulous to work with she corrected any issue I had. She is a great asset to this company.

I used the Google reviews when I chose Priddy to work with and I wish I had checked Yelp before making what was ultimately a poor decision. Yelp’s reviews are more indicative of the experience I had. My advice is to not use this company for more than a chimney cleaning. Right off the bat, it's really expensive for work that is good but not good enough for the price. More importantly, dealing with this company has been the worst experience I have had with a company, I think, ever. They started out great, very responsive and helpful until I paid my deposit and committed to the work. The workers were supposed to arrive between 8AM - 10AM which didn't happen at all, they were arriving between 11 and as late as 1:30PM and leaving by about 3 - 3:30. Twice they failed to arrive at all, no phone call from anyone, they just didn't show up and when I called I was told the main worker called in sick but no one thought to call me. What was supposed to take a week dragged out to close to 3 weeks because at one point they sent the workers to another job. The "project manager" Hind, didn't show up at all during the install, despite telling me she'd be here frequently to check how things were going, I saw her once, at the end. Then they sent me a "final bill" and once that was paid, they sent me another "final bill" and when I asked what it was for they just kept emailing the invoice. Finally, they said I had not paid for the actual stove which ended up being a blessing in disguise. Why? Because they sold me a stove that I can not get logs for - standard sized logs are 16" and the stove they sold me only takes 12". When I called around the city to find 12" logs no one cuts them that size and finally one of the vendors told me that it is very expensive to alter their equipment and since so few people need non-standard sized logs they don't cut them and that is why I can't find them. Maybe someone, somewhere would do it but I'm guessing at twice the price. So, I told Christine and Hind at Priddy to come and get the stove because I wasn't going to pay for a stove that I either needed to use a chop saw to cut the logs or hire someone else to do it - not an easy or cost effective solution. I've never owned a wood stove so I relied on these over-priced "experts" for information and guidance and they should have explained, when they RECOMMENDED this wood stove, that I would not be able to use standard logs for it and I would not have bought it. In fact, it was actually the ONLY stove they recommended so it's not as if I would have noticed the specs and asked, why does this one say 12" logs and this one 16"? When I sent them an email telling them about this problem, I didn't get an apology or even an immediate call back, in fact the first call back I received after I sent my email was about 2 weeks later and when I told her I was right in the middle of a meeting and to call back, it took her another 3 weeks to call me again. When she did, again no apology for what they'd done, just a demand that I pay for the stove and when I said come and get it she responded with, "it doesn't work that way." Okay well don't come and get it but I'm not paying for it. Maybe in her world, it doesn't work like that but in my world when you are sold a product that is unusable or when you are not satisfied with a service you don't pay, you send it back and you never use that company or service again.

"For nearly 4 months , we made numerous follow ups (via email, texts and phone calls) after the project was complete in September 2020 without any response. While there was clearly some sort of disconnect here, we cannot address an issue we didn't know existed - your communication to our team regarding the stove and tiling was very complimentary until we sent you the bill. We did offer you an option for a standard stove which required modifying the firebox opening but you did not want to proceed with that. It was not until January 2021, you responded to our follow up email by insulting every individual on our team and brought up the complaint about the stove. We immediately e-mailed you back, offered solutions and again no response. We continued to follow up and finally yesterday you answered our call stating you were in a meeting so you couldn't really talk but demanded that we come remove the stove NEXT burning season (6 months from now) to which we responded that it doesn't work like that, because there is a return policy so if we must return a product there is a specified window of time in which we could do it. You hung up on us and now leave a review that is a complete misstatement of facts and events. If we make a mistake we own it - when the crew ran behind schedule because they had to purchase material prior to coming to you, we apologized and did our best to meet your timeline. We are not perfect, but we do our best to ensure that our clients are satisfied prior to, during and post installation. As an example of that effort, we spent nearly 3 months meeting with you at tile shops and at your home to review the project before we even had an approved contract or deposit, because we wanted to make sure that you were happy with what we proposed. As stated in our emails to you, including one sent yesterday, we are more than willing to work with you on a resolution. So please reach out to us at your earliest convenience to settle this matter. We will await your response."

These folks were great! Super fast. Excellent price! (I did have an Angie's list coupon which provided a great discount.) I noticed that my chimney cap had been blown off recently, not sure how long it had been like that. Priddy Chimney had a crew in my area and could do the install SAME DAY! The team was quick, professional, and cleaned up after themselves (unlike some contractors). Quick and easy job for them. Great price for me. I would certainly hire them again!

To start with, they charged me $1 more than the Angie’s list price despite my having confirmed the price in advance. They also installed the wrong type of cap (appliance to be vented is gas). They told me that in order to stop the leak I would need to have the chimney repainted for $1850. They continued to contact me about this by phone and mail, including a form letter that enclosed a form letter addressed to another client. It turns out that the leak came from a hole in the chimney liner, which has now been successfully repaired by another company.

We had an outstanding experience with Priddy...in fact, it was probably one of the most efficient experiences we have had with a home service provider. I understand they have new ownership, and there is certainly pride taken in a job well done. We sent an email to Priddy and immediately heard back from Christina. She was very pleasant and explained the process and answered questions. She was able to provide a quote by reviewing satellite images of our house. Two workers arrived as scheduled. They were polite and cleared out all the mess. The work took about 3-4 hours ...much faster than we expected. Overall, we would highly recommend Priddy.

After doing a nice job cleaning our chimneys and furnace flue, inspection revealed that chimneys were in poor repair. I hired Priddy Clean to install a stainless steel flue liner into the old furnace flue. The job required two holes to be made in the existing brick chimney. Old flue tiles had to be busted out by hand to allow the liner to be installed and routed through the chimney to the furnace. This turned out to be a bigger job than anticipated, but the work was accomplished professionally and much to my appreciation. The brick repair was done exceptionally well. I could barely tell where the holes had been made. Most importantly, no extra charges were added. I would recommend Priddy Clean highly to do any chimney work needed.10

I could not get my fireplace damper to close. Had others try also. They quickly figured out that it just needed a good push, so I need to use two hands to close it. I was charged for the house call, which was fine. I could not have figured out what the problem was without them. Money well spent.

On July 2018, I contacted Priddy Clean Chimney Sweeps, Inc, a company that was recommended by Angie’s List. I asked for an estimate to reline the hot water heater flue as the technician initially believed that the airflow was blocked. [Actually, it was not the case]. The person who wrote the estimate also showed me 2 pictures. On these pictures, I could see cracks around the crown of the chimney and these needed to be fixed as well. Finally, I apparently needed a new damper as they could not find one in my chimney . Ultimately, they took that item off the quote after I took a picture of it and explained that it was already there. I received the following quote [i.e. $3,600]. As can be seen on the picture of the estimate, the "Service Description the Stainless Steel Rain and Animal Guard" is listed at no additional cost. Therefore, I thought that its replacement was included. As I needed to have hot water as soon as possible, I made the mistake of not asking for a second quote from another company. [Picture 1] After the job was completed, I asked for a picture of the chimney to make sure that the job had been completed. They only provided me with the following picture. [Picture 2] As can be seen, the "facelift" of the upper part of the chimney/the crown has been completed. Everything appears to be new, except for the rusty rain and animal guard that had not been changed. I argued that it was included in the estimate at no cost, but to no avail The company replied that “We are not in the business of simply replacing things because they are old or don’t look as pretty – we are in the business of making chimneys SAFE and OPERABLE for homeowners.” After spending $3,600, that was really good to know. Bottom line, to get a new rain and animal guard, I had to pay an extra $110. The amount is trivial but I was not particularly happy with the outcome and the answer provided by the company. One needs to spend a considerable time to review the initial quote and make sure that even minor items are fully accounted for. This is the first time that I negotiate the repair of my chimney and I am assuming that this company has negotiated hundreds of these contracts. I was clearly at a disadvantage. Some companies react properly and others don’t. This company is clearly in the second category.
Response from Priddy Chimney Solutions
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], First of all WHAT YOU HAVE PRESENTED AS THE ESTIMATE IS NOT IN FACT THE ESTIMATE - IT IS THE INVOICE OF TOTAL WORK COMPLETED. Interesting that you did not display the picture of the contract you signed, because doing so would prove that your interpretation and basis for this review is wholly incorrect. Your review is a gross misinterpretation of facts and events, and I will be sure to contact Angie's List to dispute this review. I am not able to attach photos in my response, but I will be sure to forward your signed contract and our email correspondences (with your wife) to Angie's List for review. Here is the deal, you signed a contract authorizing us to reline your hot water heater and to perform point up on your chimney. The stainless steel rain and animal guard included in the contract was a termination cap - it is a a code required cap for a relined system. You have argued that the contract included two rain and animal guards, please refer to the contract you signed and tell me where do you see any item displaying 2 quantities? And you may then revise your review to display it so that facts are accurately presented. You contacted us to complain about your rusty cap (covering your fireplace flue) because it didn't look aesthetically pleasing i.e. "they don't match" and on top of that you wanted it for free. We told you that while it was rusted, it was in relatively good shape and we would not install it for free because the contract did not include replacing a cap for your fireplace. We agreed on the $110.00 for the additional cap and returned to replace it and submitted a photo to that effect. If we make a mistake we have no problem correcting it. Replacing your rusted cap was elective and closer evaluation of the contract you signed would have revealed early on that only one cap was included. At which time you could have reached out to us and asked about the other cap for the fireplace."

My hot water heater venting had asbestos in the pipe to the outside of the house. It had crumbled and was blocking any ventilation causing carbon monoxide to back up into the house. The gas company ticked my hot water heater and the plumber I called who put in the hot water heater a couple years ago told me that the furnace uses the same venting system and that I shouldn't use it either. Christina at Priddy was FANTASTIC! She not only made our job a priority because we were without hot water and heat, but came out and explained everything to us, showed us pictures taken of the crumbled pipe. They removed the asbestos and answered all my questions. The technicians that did the work were extremely polite, efficient, professional and cleaned up as they went. They left things in order. Christina even went above and beyond to ensure the work they did added a bit of curb appeal. I was delighted to hear they do other work as well such as painting and we discussed electrical options for me on a project I had in mind. Very positive experience.
