The technicians from Melron Cooling & Heating know what they are doing. They are reliable. Everything was great. They are good people to deal with. I have a service contract with them and I would continue to use them in the future.

DO NOT USE MELRON! Their service and responsiveness used to be ok but it has definitely gone down hill. My last experience with them was cause for me to terminate my service contract. I had a scheduled appt for the ac summer inspection (one of 2 per my contract) on a Saturday -- they were a no show. Rescheduled to the following Saturday. They were a no show. Finally rescheduled to the 3rd Saturday and again, they were a no show. Promises were made that the tech was on his way and to stand-by. Following several phone calls and text messages (assuring me he was on his way), it became obvious no one was coming. No apologies from the tech or company owner (receptionist apologized but was really clueless as to what was going on). I requested and did receive the balance due on my contract when I canceled the service. The company has a long way to go with customer service, or lack thereof!

Our initial experience with this company was less than satisfactory, and attempts to resolve it ourselves did not work. We got the attention we needed after a complaint to Angies List. Since then service has been excellent, though it did take time because the logs for our older model fireplace had to be special ordered. This also accounts for the relatively high price for the work done. We are completely satisfied with the result and would consider using this contractor again now that we have resolved our differences over service.

Awful service. Showed up late. Brought wrong log. Didn't respond to calls. Couldn't finish everything in one visit b/c forgot some stuff back at the office. Charged me twice on the credit card.

it was s troy of complete incompetence. the replacement of a water heater, which was supposed to be finished in one week, by the beginning of August 2009, has turned into a six month project, with continuing problems. They assigned someone woth no knowledge to the project, ordered two wrong heaters so the installation took 15 weeks and after that, had problems with hot water and heat. The boiler is still not working correctly, they continue to order parts and I have had to refund my tenants rent for lack of services. The company has been to my home at least 10 times. Worst contractor experience of my life.

I asked for an estimate to install a gas log fireplace and was told that either Ron (the owner) or Darin (the service manager) were going to do the estimate. Instead, someone else came. Because the estimate was reasonable and Darin had been recommended to me, I made an appointment for Darin to do the installation on November 30. He was supposed to come between 9:00 and 11:00. I took the day off from work in order to get this done. At 11:15, I called Enron and was told that Darin was not working that day and that no one was coming to do the installation. I took the day off for nothing and no one called to tell me. I then had several phone calls with Ron, who promised me that Darin would come at 9:00 the following week, December 7 at 9:00. At 10:15, someone other than Darin showed up. I specified many times that I wanted Darin because of his expertise in this area. I got Darin on the phone and he claimed he knew nothing about the appointment. A second day I took off from work for no reason. This company is UNRELIABLE and evidently they don't care about customer relations or their reputation. I have now made an appointment with someone else.

They were very good and had a very good price. They were able to get me something that no other distributor could do. They were always professional. They come on a yearly basis and their pricing is very good. I felt I got a good value.

Melron's bid for our furnace was hundreds of dollars cheaper than the competition, they were able to do the job within days, and they did a very fine and complete job. I dealt directly with Ron, who was very responsive and available and followed through on his commitments. He even steered me clear of sales pressure from a competing firm that would have cost me thousands in premature spending. Ron also told me that our existing furnace contractor had barely done any cleaning inside the old furnace even though they had just come out for the semi-annual inspection. We have switched our service contract to Melron, which, by the way, was much more price competitive.

They did a fabulous job. The people we dealt with were very considerate and helpful. They also helped us with getting the permits. We are now under contract with them to have them come out to do annual check ups on the system.

There seems to be no attention to detail any more; after the system was installed, Melron was going to call to schedule the spring check-up, which was never done. There were punch list items which were never followed up on either. When they called to schedule the fall check-up, I gave them the punch list items again, and called the office the night before to remind them. I was assured that the crew would call the next morning to verify things. The next morning (Monday, 10/22), no phone call, and no parts for the punch list. They left without even doing the check-up, and promised to be back Wednesday afternoon. At 5:30 Wednesday, after waiting all afternoon, we called Melron ourselves, only to be told that they weren't coming that day. They came back on Thursday with one of the parts needed, installed it, but still did not do the check-up. The fan on the new heat pump failed this weekend; it is will be repaired under warranty, but we have fired Melron from their service contract.

I have been pleased with this company for some time now. They seem to do a very good job. They mail me a notice when its time to clean the unit. They also call me to schedule an appointment. The people are always nice and friendly as well.
